GTB 53 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 So while Mark and his gang were breathing fire onto my GT86 I had them fit the MTEK shift springs that have been sat in my office for months. What a transformation. I can highly recommend this if you are one of the unlucky ones to have a poor gearbox. Mark, I can only assume you drove the car after the springs were fitted because it has made SO much difference. The gearbox is so much more positive.
Pitman 188 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 I an echo the improvement made - I had a set fitted by Fensport a couple of months ago. A combination of the MTEK indent springs, the TRD short shifter, the Whiteline insert for the gearbox mount and Millers nanotech oil turns the gearbox into one that no true petrol head can complain about. Keethos 842 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 What is this MTEK Spring and where is it fitted?
Pitman 188 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 Keith, they are two small springs that replace the indent springs on the gear shift mechanism. The indent springs keep the shift lever in the center of the gate when the car is in neutral. Having stronger springs helps to give a more positive feel when you shift, for example from second to third gear. http://www.mtecind.com/
