Gravity83 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 I picked up this black beauty over the weekend and managed to get a few B-Road blasts in before hurricane Bertha turned the country into a swimming pool!!! I've been on here loads over the weekend and have a pretty long list of mods I'm keen on already. In no particular order: ECU & Exhaust upgrade pack and eventually the supercharger (probably Abbey's kits) TRD bodykit (Anyone know if you can have this and keep the dual exhausts without custom modding the rear bumper?) 18x8" alloys (thinking MOMO Raptors or TSW Nurburgring - rubber suggestions welcome) Some paint detailing to contrast the black (a white stripe like Lichfield's BRZ is my starting point) Suspension upgrades & lowering packs Full red rear lights are definitely needed at some point too I'm after something between a street and race look but have never done any modding so it's all new territory for me, so suggestions very welcome. I live in central London so I'm keen to get out and about at weekends. Keen to get involved in meets and discussions of all things 86. I'm considering coming up to Snetterton this Saturday just to spectate and get a feel for the Sprint Series. I can't run as I've got a shoulder injury but it'd be cool if I can meet up with those going to find out more about the cars and club in general. Look forward to meeting some of you soon, hopefully

rob275 1817 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Hi & Welcome to the club, sounds like you have a nice shopping list to start with. ECU is a must really and makes the car come alive, also plenty of S/C & Turbo'd 86's on here who would be more than willing for you to have a go in or sit as a passenger on a track day etc to see what they are both like. I think with regards to the TRD Kit you can have the dual exhausts, but in all honesty it does look better with the quads. Remember there are many other kits available so I wouldn't really rule them out! Alloys are also a can of worms as are tyres, Majority on here are running Goodyears, Toyo's, Advans and such. Regardless of you being new to modding, there are plenty of people on here who have more money than sense so I think you won't be short of information really. As you're in central London, it will be worth noting I live not far from Croydon. We have regular meets down at the Grasshopper in Westerham which wouldn't particularly be a major journey for you. Also as you say the TSS @ Snetterton is this Saturday and I also have a BBQ on 30th along with the Dyno at Abbey which if you are free, feel free to pop down! Keethos 842 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 Congrats and Welcome to the club! That's an impressive list of mods for someone who's never modded before, you must have been really busy reading through the posts on here

Gravity83 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks all Rob, it's good to know there are others not too far away. The Grasshopper wouldn't be a bad drive for me. Could take a blast over Biggin Hill to get there too. I can't make the Abbey BBQ, unfortunately, but might make it to JAE on the Saturday instead. I'm guessing the pits at Snetterton are freely roamable on Saturday so I'll get on the thread for it and see if I can find those heading down. Keethos, it's all talk for now but it's the result of years as a repressed modder! I've been a huge motorsport fan all my life and got sucked in by Max Power in its hey day too. I've never had the money/time/confidence to do anything to previous vehicles but the GT86 seems purpose built for modding so I'm not going to turn the invitation down

Jamie_GRMN 177 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Welcome along I'll be there at Snetterton at the weekend - I think to get in and watch you just have to mention a name of a driver. Will happily chat about exhaust/ECU/suspension + handling and what I've done to mine
