rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 Just curious as to who has taken their bits out their boot? I have a lot of noise coming from the rear on bumps, i'm fairly sure it's the jack etc under the carpet. Have you guys taken them out, left them in, or done something else to fix the racket? Or is my car broken ?
nikndel 509 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 All these things are fairly secure in a sort of polystyrene mould just take the lot out and see if its stopped
Mike 458 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 I've left mine, pretty much blanked it out now, same as the squeak I have near the radio, just got used to it happening that I ignore it. To me, it's always sounded like the polystyrene that's jumping rather than the items in it I'd say your car isn't broke (except your air conditioning that can't be turned off )
rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 Yeah have you guys tested it? I'm not joking it still leaks air, smells stagnant as f*ck in the morning too

griffinnn 11 Report post Posted September 12, 2014 I'm sure my car spits out hot air even when the air con is turned off. Used to do it more than it does now right enough... Back on topic, all my junk is still in the trunk!
SteveB01 32 Report post Posted September 12, 2014 I had a knock in the back of my BRZ. Stripped everything out of the boot, polystyrene and all. In the end put some duct tape around the 2 steel loops that the back of the seat locks into and noise cured!! So although it did not sound like a back of the seat problem because it was quite a deep knock/rattle that is what it was. Good luck tracking yours down, it spoilt the car for me for a while. No probs with air con. Steve
rob275 1817 Report post Posted September 13, 2014 right i've had everything out. I had some acoustic carpet lying around so I lined the underside of the polystyrene with it. Off out for a drive tonight, will see what it's done
