nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 I've got some tocks and ticks to find in my cabin, and this is the year to do it! I'd appreciate any suggestions to help me find them. 1. Driver door clonks under high G cornering. Something is sliding around inside 2. Ticking and tocking from rear left quarter (I think) in response to jiggly road surface. Comes and goes with temperature/time. I peeled back the boot trim to have a look, found what I think is the rear suspension top mount (two nuts and a hole with a third nut in it), didn't budge to fingers but I didn't have time to try a socket on them. No signs of scraping, so they're hopefully staying put. 3. Speaker shroud on driver's side dashboard. Probably just need to wedge it in with some padding. 4. Sound of poorly lubricated machinery between ears. Persists outside the car.
Gringosteve 213 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 I have one behind the stereo and the drivers seat belt plug drives me nuts _____________________________________ www.tuned.org.uk
nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 I'm half tempted to replace some speakers while I'm popping trim out. Looks like I should be investigating the rear folding seat locks. 2 Gringosteve and Mark-in-Stoke reacted to this
Maxwellphillips 7 Report post Posted April 28, 2016 I have the rattle in the left rear quarter, but I think it's something to do with the rear seat back board rattling off the parcel shelf/boot, need to stick some foam in there and see if it helps
LarmiqGt 49 Report post Posted April 28, 2016 I replaced my speakers whilst finding rattles. Focal ps 165 f3s. The annoying rattle I have is from where the seat belt plugs in. It creeks constantly.
nerdstrike 186 Report post Posted April 28, 2016 Probably for a different thread, but ooh those speakers look proper. I'm pining for better clarity.
DanJ 374 Report post Posted April 28, 2016 I'm driving around without a head unit at the moment (one more difference between Subaru and Toyota is the head unit brackets are different!) and so many of the rattles are gone. When I get the right brackets to fit the Xtrons head unit I'll be smothering it in anti rattle tape I think!
