Alarms goes off when disconnect battery

Hi all,

I am trying to disconnect the battery with the car locked but as soon as I disconnect the negative terminal the alarm goes off as it probably has a backup battery somewhere. Is there a way to disconnect the battery without triggering the alarm? Thanks!

Have you tried, unlocking the car, disconnecting the battery then locking the door manually?

Thanks for the advice Will! I worked it out. Had to disconnect the positive terminal first then the negative.
