Sleazyboii 2 Report post Posted November 10, 2019 Good evening, Does anyone know the colour temperature of the stock GT86 UK Xenon Bulbs? I was under the impression that they were 6000K but after closer look they seem more between 4000K-5000K. Any information would be great.
smudge 1020 Report post Posted November 10, 2019 Most OEM Xenon bulbs are 4300K
Jay 37 Report post Posted November 11, 2019 They seldom are whiter than 5000 K. To be honest, I prefer them to not be too white. I've got LED head lights, which cause pretty harsh reflections. Also, a high colour temperature can be quite annoying under rainy or foggy conditions, as a lot of the short wavelength light reflects.
Sleazyboii 2 Report post Posted November 11, 2019 Thanks for the replies, the reason for upgrading is the drls on my new headlights are 6500k and would like to get something that is a closer match than the stock oem colour. I keep seeing alot of cars going down the led route and getting that nice bright white look.
smudge 1020 Report post Posted November 12, 2019 I always found 6000K to be the best compromise. The higher the temperature, the worse the light output
Luke 193 Report post Posted November 12, 2019 I think they are about 4300k to 5000k but if you go for 55w rather than 35w you'll get a brighter whiter light from the same kelvin bulb. I always complement the oem headlights, great light spread and colour. Also not so bright they irritate others motorists.
