I'm coming up on my 20th day at CarLimits. It is brilliant, you will feel the limits and realize how little you know about driving :), but also have a blast, especially in an 86/BRZ. In a 4 people day, you get a lot of driving time and will be knackered by the end of the day. The hardest part is after the day is over and you go home and feel like everyone drives ridiculously slow. As Vad said, It is hard on the tyres, the surface is very abrasive, but you can manage. My last set of PS4s lasted 6 track days and 3 car limits days, and I did not go easy on them - to say the least. My Primacies did not do anywhere near as well. If you are lucky and get a wet day it is the best training ever for wet surfaces, plus you will be sidways a lot :). But don't worry you will be sideways on a normal day too. And backwards, and all possible angles.

The engine runs out of flow at higher RPM and the cams don't seem to be the issue, the article below suggests a 4-6% increase on a FI car which is the best I've seen ..... plus they are ~£1.5k (4 cams to replace). https://dsportmag.com/the-tech/hks-260266-cams-go-for-a-spin/

    Hello GT86 people

Welcome Adam. You've just reminded me I need to sort out another Midlands meet.

    First Track Day Snetterton

The stock tyres are hilarious after about four laps, they go off, but are really consistent. Remember mine on stock tyres the first time I tracked it. Went pretty quick for a few laps then drifted everywhere. Great fun.

    Got hit by a van

UPDATE: Toyota Auris - taken the car to a bodyshop for estimation of price and this should be booked in for repairs by the end of the week which will be claimed for the third party who hit me. Toyota GT86 - the van man who hit me; his representatives called me saying he has accepted liability. I asked for some clarity and the representative informed me that based on his account of events, he is liable for the accident and he has been informed of this. In both instances, the end result will be a no fault claim on the Auris and GT86. Sort of just waiting around now for the garage to come back to me with a quote for the work before I send this off to my insurer for approval. Looks unlikely I'll have the work started until the next of next month as he is going on holiday when schools go on Easter break. My alternative is to go with another garage but it has been recommended that this guy is trustworthy so I'd rather wait a little longer than go to a random body shop and get a bad job. Decisions.

Just received a letter... Less than impressed with my local dealer. I have always serviced my cars but for the sake of service history and time, i dropped it in just over a month ago for a major service, including spark plugs. I also asked about this: On 04/02/2019 Hi economicpygmy There is no recall outstanding at this time. We will look forward to seeing you. Kind Regards ***** Subaru 03 February 2019 Can you check if there's a valve spring recall on my car? *** REG *** Regards, economicpygmy Maybe Im jumping to conclusions but rolling in changing the valve springs and spark plugs would have seemed like a good idea....to me 🙄 They also supplied an invoice with 5W30; when queried and it was meant to be 0W20. The history has this mistake too last year from the previous owner. These are exactly the kind of things that dont endear me to giving them a major job like pulling the engine to change the valve springs. And if the engine fails afterwards I bet its a world of pain....
