Finally got around to first wax

I have had the car now for 3 weeks and finally got round to giving the 86 a proper clean and wax. No before or during pictures but happy with the result. Products used are Gyeon Bathe + to clean. Clay barred and then Auto finesse Ultra Glaze to prep and then 2 coats of Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid wax. Wheels cleaned with Auto Finesse wheel cleaner and finished off with Auto Finesse mint rims and Chemical Guys Tyre Dressing to complete. Class cleaned with Gyeon Prep and then finished off with Auto Finesse Vision.

I'll try to be there! Is it really busy usually? Do I need to come before 9 to find a parking space? Thanks!

So, I popped into my local dealer (WR Davies in Telford) and they are aware of the recall. They say that not all dealers are ready as they’re waiting on tooling/racking/parts etc. They also said some dealers were chosen to trial the work and give feedback to HQ for any suggestions/alterations to proceedings. My guess is that Toyota want to make sure everything’s good before they give a green light to the entire dealer network. They are acutely aware of turbo/supercharger upgrades and the extra work involved for the recall with modified cars like this. They may be choosing certain dealers to recommend to customers with such modifications (or maybe even instruct customers to take their vehicles to?!). WR Davies were interested in what I knew so far from the forums and club etc, but were still encouraging me to ‘WAIT OUT’ (as military types might say!) until they get in touch with me. With all the information available to date, my opinion is still that dealers will let customers know when they’re told by Toyota. But if a dealer isn’t told yet, and aren’t inquisitive or pushing Toyota for info, then they’ll just do what they’re told, when they’re told! There’s still no point in fretting about it 🙂

Just got mine booked in late May with Subaru Sheffield. Really put my mind at ease. Knew all about it, was aware of the problems that have been happening and assured me all would be fine. They’ve got a few in for it as well so plenty of practice before mine. Feeling a bit more relaxed about it all now. Recommend giving them a call if you’re near Sheffield at all.
