Then install aftermarket gearbox/tranny/diff bushings, so that other parts will whine in place of quiet supercharger

The problem isnt as simple as at X BHP a rod will go. I got speaking to Mike at TD, he was explaining it was more about peak cylinder pressure. This is something that Supercharging has an advantage over turbo as it increases in a linear fashion where a turbo nowadays can push to max boost early on in the rev range. As the car revs up the peak cylinder pressure naturally drops off. The rods are also sintered which produces an irregular output hence why it is a lottery.

I've seen a couple let go with no boost at all, its a total lottery. Some of the US cars are running 400+ bhp on stock rods and I think the TD dev car is currently running ~380bhp on a stock engine.

Five cars for a Monday evening ! Thanks to those who came and waited patiently for the sun to appear. I have posted a few photos in the "Meets show and shine" section. . After positive comments from attendees, I hope to arrange another meet here in due course.

I think I saw somewhere that a one let go at less than ~280 bhp, and I forget whether it was a turbo or not, but at least there's a sticker for that: https://mightycarmods.com/collections/stickers/products/rodney-the-piston-sticker Boost shortens the life of the engine unless it's designed for it or otherwise overengineered, so you shouldn't expect miracles, but supercharging at low boost is probably the least risky version of FI.

    Aftermarket headunit

I went with a cheap xtrons unit and while it won't be the best it's been pretty much spot on since I installed it a year ago. It's an android unit with DAB, reverse cam, dash cam, any android maps app. There's an ongoing review thread on here and I think someone was selling one on here not long back for a good price. Also if you search eBay you can find the USB retention cable for under £5 posted from China. That's what I got and it works perfect.

    Aftermarket headunit

I have pioneer avh 8700bt fitted. It has DAB but I don't use it for that, like Tommy I use tune in app if I want to listen to digital radio. I mainly use Spotify which is direct access on this head unit so you don't have to have your phone plugged in. I also use Waze and Google maps, they are always up to date. To fit this I bought all the below which is the harness, fascia kit, aerial adaptor and also the lead to keep the in car USB, although you can run the USB from the head unit into the glove box if you prefer. https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/toyota-gt-86-car-stereo-double-din-fascia-wiring-loom-antenna-fitting-kit.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwitPnBRCQARIsAA5n84lKw54sVcH5UYC-Z9YnZPL0kAhwu-GQGT1GkGqd_0voY9_FdQdmyhgaAj-IEALw_wcB And, toyota gt86 2012 car stereo factory usb retention interface cable. £24.99 eBay.
