    MatrixProtein's AVO boosted 86

Nice one, Matrix. I so understand your charger versus turbo dilemma as I went thrrough exactly the same thought process a little earlier this year. I don't think there is any one best solution as it's a personal choice and each has its merits. I guess I smiled a little when you focussed in on the Harrop before you went the turbo route as the Harrop is what I now have. Isn't it true, though, that the real benefit of going forced induction is it's what many of us knew the car needed? It was great in tuned NA form, but the chassis is so deserving of more power and I was fed up with being left behind by hot hatches. That doesn't happen any more. Just as with my previous car, I don't use the power very often, but when I want it, it's there. Happy turbo power!

    Smudge's supercharged V8 build

Still lots happening behind the scenes, with the car going back to Carson Performance on Monday for a bit of prep work whilst the engine is being worked on elsewhere. The heads are still undergoing a porting and rebuild procedure, but unfortunately it's come to a stop whilst we wait on some new, stronger, bronze valve guides from New Zealand. And I'm now anxiously waiting on parts from all over the globe! My most favourite being a very neat bit of kit called an interchiller, which essentially works the same as a Water-to-air intercooler for the supercharger, but the fluid is further cooled using the A/C system to get FREEZING inlet temps which of course means more power. Not a cheap bit of kit and looks quite fiddly to install, but very exciting nevertheless. Stay tuned for big updates over the next few weeks...

Bringing an 86 back from the dead

Damn that’s unlucky. Importing stuff can be a real pain. Have a great time at the ring, it’s fantastic.

Here is Martin's lovely BRZ. Shame we only had one attend. How it was so clean after coming all the way from Basingstoke I'm not sure. Thanks Martin!

Bringing an 86 back from the dead

Roger Clarke Motorsport will do you a forged/decked EJ20 short block for far less than you’d have expected. 👍 Cool project though, that Pure automotive ECU kit looks really quite impressive. Though you do pay for it.
