26/01/2020 - Donington Park Trackday As I'm sure most of you know, the club recently attended a trackday at Donington Park, thanks to @VAD17 for organising. This was to be my first trackday of 2020, at a circuit I've never driven before desite being the closest circuit to where I live at less than 30miles away. Knowing that it was a January trackday I didn't have much hope for the weather, thankfully the morning was dry but very greasy. These conditions meant it was very tricky for even the most experienced drivers and I don't think I've been to another trackday which had as many red flags as Donington did in the morning. Which was a shame as I didn't get alot of seat time, my longest session was about 25 minutes. I litterally left our pit garage only to be stopped at the end of the pit straight as the track had just been red flagged, however this meant I was to be the first one out in the next session. It helped that there was a couple of very slow cars right behind me, so I could get some space on track with no one else to immediately worry about. I made sure I got as much seat time as possible during that session, and eventually the track started to dry out. Below is a video of that session, taking it easy whilst trying to learning the circuit. (This is footage taken from the new GoPro Hero 8 which I'm testing - unfortunately the free video editor I'm using didn't use the best export ratio, which is why the footage is square) The rest of the day was abit of a mess, I think I only had one more clean session as there were numerious red flags or the condition changed. It started to rain just before lunch and the afternoon was very wet. Unfortunately the AD08RS don't really like greasy conditions, they are fine in the dry or full on wet, but in between not so much. @Adi had has instructor there for the afternoon and I listened whilst the instructor and @Hokum discussed what lines to take during wet conditions, this helped massively during my next session. Overall I think I managed 6 or 7 sessions during the day, mostly because of the number of red flags and people needing to be towed back to the pits. However atleast I can now say I've done Donington and I'm eager to go back during the summer. Here are a couple of photos:

How much tracking are you doing? I swap tyres (2 sets of wheels) between ps4 for road and ad08r for track. But I'd run the ad08r most of the year tbh, just not good in heavy rain and have to take it easy. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

Will there is a min thickness for standard fronts it's min 22mm and new is 24mm for the rear it's min 16.5 and new is 18mm. Not sure if your BBK or not but check with AP etc what the min thickness is for your discs with the supplier. Measure with a micrometer. Sent from my COL-L29 using Tapatalk

    Brakes seized?

Sorry to hear that vad, hope all goes well. I'll just mention, the rear brakes seized on my mazda 6 and I took it to a garage where they replaced both rear calipers, pads etc without much consideration (£600). Two weeks later, one of those calipers failed again, and was replaced under warranty, then another two weeks later the handbrake seized and the cable was wrecked. On my FOURTH trip to the garage, they dismantled everything, had a proper look, gave it a proper clean, and discovered that the slide pins were gunged up and weren't moving properly. They replaced these, and I've not had a problem since... My point is, don't necessarily assume the worst - it might be a £40 slide pin issue, instead of a hugely expensive caliper issue! Sorry for rambling - but i feel much better for getting that off my chest [emoji16] Best of luck! Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Denso ECU, similar to those in Subaru's. D4S is indeed just an indicator of PI/DI/Both. Loads of people in the US get really shitty over IAM changes. Some will occur unless mapped conservatively, this engine is high compression and the setup is known to be overly sensitive. High gear loading can do it as well. Dropping to 0.5 isn't ideal though, especially if you're on V-Power. I take it that as you're running EcuTek you're tuned as well. There is a lot of knock correction going on. Look at the ign correction - fine parameter, any time it's negative it's pulling timing, any time it's positive it's trying to restore the IAM. That's FLKC. FBKC is Knock Correction

Does not look like it Front calipers seized, need a recovery track. Been told ETA is unknown as they need to find one for lowered cars [emoji19] Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
