Bringing an 86 back from the dead

So after what's felt like a lifetime of Searching i've finally managed to find a space to rent to make in to a decent little workshop to work on the car! Luckily it's really local to me as well, about 5 minutes up the road. It's not much at the moment but it was previously a donkey shed so has had a brand new concrete floor done and will soon have a new door install (as you can see it, greatly needs it!) Once it's nice and secure i'll be able to move all my more expensive bits and the car, set up my nice new set of Quickjack and get cracking for an update bonanza! I've got a whole week off work planned just to crack on with the car and i've been really looking forward to it. I'll probably also start uploading some bits to youtube as well as updating my project threads so keep your eyes peeled for some terribly produced jumbled up videos loosely resembling car content!

Bit of a follow up now on the turbo as although it’s only been a few days I have spent far to long in the car for my liking. i think it is a great mod and really now feel this is how the car should’ve been from the factory or offered as an upgrade R type model or something. the boost picks up really well and comes on nice and strong, it is so smooth though I would imagine it’s very similar to a supercharger. paired with the super res cat back the exhaust note has really calmed down, Mike thought it was to quiet. But after a disaster at cadwell I was pleased it was running as it was on a late night run across the country. You get the nice induction noise as the turbo starts spoiling and the classic pssst when letting off, I had mine recirculated back into the system and you can still hear this fine inside the car. also had the TD oil cooler fitted and this dropped my temps a good 20-30degress, before long road trips I would sit at 105-110 where as now it seems about 85. At my last track outing my oil got to almost 130degrees and this was at about 2degrees ambient air temp. Yesterday it was at 90-100 or so max

    Valenti rear bumper light

Managed to sort mine out finally. I had followed a guide a couple of years ago where the blue wire from the socket of the valenti is taken out and added to the blue wire for the tail lights. This blue wire is the wire for the normal running condition. The red is the brake. So I put the blue wire back into the socket: I then moved the red wire of the bumper light from the red wire of the tail light and moved it to the blue wire instead: Now this here is the internal wiring I have: You will need to unsolder the blue wire and the black and orange and solder them all together like so: Wrap with electrical tape or use heat shrink if you have it. Now it should function in line with UK law; the fog light will turn on with the fog light switch, the V will work with the normal lights, and the reversing lights working as normal. I've also added this to that Aussie post. Hope this helps some people out!
