    Fensport vs Tuning Developments

When I last saw @VAD17 in Bedford back in December the official fix for the cone filter neck breaking was to just use a shorter cone filter. @VAD17 makes subtle turbo sounds very OEM and power does feel progressive from the passenger seat. @MartinT Harrop setup looks incredibly OEM under the bonnet and makes it easy to tinker under the bonnet. As for what is better, I still can’t decide.

Thanks Lauren, that's good to hear, as I can check and change the links easily myself. The car has been checked twice since the link was installed (inspected after the recall and a video sent to me where they mentioned the drop links looking fine, funnily enough) and also went through the MOT. But if it's only a tiny split, then it could easily be missed. And the car has been driven in some torrential weather lately...so water ingress is likely I guess.

    Fensport vs Tuning Developments

Took me a while to find it ,this is the best review for FI kits with all sorts of data and slants just from across the Atlantic. Take your time and read it a few times over Jay. Edelbrock is very similar to Harrop as it uses the same charger Eaton TVS 1320. So reference it that way and enjoy making your mind up. https://dsportmag.com/the-tech/showcase/the-2018-86-challenge-presented-by-eneos/2/ Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

    Reyland brake kit

I was running Ferodo DS2500 at the time (the standard pads that come with the kit - hated them with a passion), the discs had seen approx. 8 track days at that point IIRC. I wouldn’t say that the DS2500 is a particularly aggressive pad, in fact I would say they were far too mild for my liking. Now switched to PMu HC+ but haven’t tracked the car enough (due to lockdown) to tell if the compound has made a difference. That said, they are excellent pads for pure road use but not aggressive enough on track - I have ordered a set of Endless ME20 which will be going on as soon as the PMus wear down.

GR Yaris who's going for it?

In an update of mapping the tuning box, good progress has been made. Nervous me has had plenty of reassurances from Richard and Gary has checked the fuelling which is nice and rich on full boost at the top end. I have also received information from trusted sources that the stock bottom end will take 500bhp and been advised that I'm barely tickling it at 305bhp. This is good news. I have had some revisions done to the map, to wind back the boost a bit at 3000rpm and make it a bit more linear. The guy at DTUK has been excellent with taking a lot of time to discuss and revise and checking in with me every day this week, when I've been in the car. This has helped and the car is absolutely flying now. The boost increase is 0.2 bar/2.9psi, so it's nothing too crazy. Really enjoyed the EVO article too.

    Fensport vs Tuning Developments

The Fensport turbo kit used to be a lot more expensive, they brought the price down not long ago to be more competitive with the TD kit, which when it arrived blew the others out of the water on value. Personally if I was going for a turbo, I prefer the design of the Fensport kit with the turbo mounted low and keeping an enclosed air filter so less heat soak. Also Adrian has done a lot of track development with it's design in sprint series, and supports those series financially. I believe the cheaper AVO kits have less headroom for power increases than the standard TD turbo units, though - and the TD is dyno mapped, which is nice to get real data on the improvements beyond the arse-dyno.
