Very similar story when I swapped from my mx5 to my 86 Mike. Had renewed a month prior, lost about £230 as they told me I'd have to go on to a different type of policy so cancelled my old one and started a new one due to the 86 not being as modified as my mx5 was. in their favour, they were still cheaper than anyone else so still ended up staying

To be honest, I did the ferry year before last and will be again in July. I had no clearance issues on the upper level and I'm on 18's all round with coilovers wound down in the region of 35-40mm I think. No scraping, just took it slow and was fine! Albeit it I have no splitter or anything on the front end at the moment, nor did I at the time I went. I found driving out there was quite easy and relaxing, mostly motorway and rural areas, no busy cities. Though I'm going on my own this time, so I may invest in one of those TAG set ups as those tolls will be a nightmare with no passenger!

Open Day Spring 2017 @ Tuning Developments 16/04
STEVO9000 replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Hobby, weather in the U.K. isn't good enough to make a career from it. we check direction before we go to the launch site, then check it again before we take off. To be honest with you, if the direction does change mid flight it's unlikely you'd be within close enough range to an area that we couldn't land in.- 126 replies

I can control up and down, but left and right is all at the mercy of the wind! Check direction before you take off and plan your launch site accordingly- 126 replies

Definitely intend to make the run up! Will be weather dependent for me though.... I'm currently training to become a hot air balloon pilot so if the weather is flyable I need the hours in the sky!- 126 replies

Was out there the year before last, all I could find where we were staying was 98. I'll look into it more before I go
-
Interesting. i was thinking of picking some of this stuff up before I go to France in July, my car is mapped for 99ron and their super out there is only 98. But I wasn't sure if octane boosters were a gimmick or if it would actually do anything so I can leave mine in performance map rather than eco map for 2 weeks 😜

That's ok, I wasn't after the blocks I'm not sure if the gain is worth it. Doesn't it lose top end power? -

Bummer! I was going to ask for the carbon badges too interested in the master cylinder brace and oil cap though! -
Sat in that one the other day when I went to pick mine up from service. Not a fan of the front end, and the new radio has a cheap feel to it with those slim chrome buttons. I did quite like the dash display and the wheel controls, along with the spoiler and rear bumper getting my approval. I think the seats were different too if I remember rightly?

CK better than the rest of the market
STEVO9000 replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance Companies
Maybe not then. Was just told on the phone that I could have a quote, but that it wouldn't stand unless I could get proof in writing of the cheapest quote I'd had so far. From past experience trying to get it in writing from a company that isn't the one offering the renewal is near enough impossible these days as they know it's going to be used for someone else to beat it -

Funnily enough I had my renewal yesterday from another company which I wasn't too happy with the offered price. You shall be having a call shortly -
Dan from Adrian Flux Insurance Services
STEVO9000 replied to DAN@ADRIAN FLUX's topic in Insurance Companies
Hey Dan, Quick question, how come my renewal has come through at £547 when my policy price for this current year was £498. No changes, no claims, no endorsements. From past experience I've rung around, got it beaten, rung up to cancel and you've smashed it. Seems like I'm gonna have to waste another afternoon doing the same again! -

Thats ridiculous, I've had the same error and mine is remapped. They couldn't even tell, or if they could they didn't say a word about it. Swapped the coil for a new one, job done. I don't understand why one dealer will just do it but another won't. If it helps when they were trying to fob me off with an a/c issue, I spoke directly to Toyota technical hq who rang the dealer and told them to stop fucking about basically.

Mine is due next month. Waiting on my renewal to come through from Flux. Paid £498 for this year, so hopefully manage to get it a bit cheaper. Will prob be doing a spot of ringing round though!
