yep 14 from full stiff, it is a little wallowy yet still feels more composed than standard
-
not gotten it to bottom out yet, though I can't say I've tried. I can tell you on Thursday how good it is over rough road as I got to go over some to get to football I have tried the suspension on a single track country lane which is faaaaaaaar from smooth, it's up n down and uneven with it on 4 clicks from hard and it rode that better than standard, felt I could go quicker much more safely than standard
-
this evening I tried setting the tein flex a's to 2 clicks from full soft and it's amazing how soft the ride has become, it's almost like the hydropneumatic suspension you'd get on the old citroens I can't honestly recommend them enough
-
you shouldn't solely focus on the spring kg as the flex a's come with 6/6 which is double the rear kg and 1.5x my front kg (approx) and yet it can give a better ride than standard imo so you have to look at the shocks as well to see what dampening they offer
-
when you say sport are you referring to vsc sport? as that allows some sideways action with a safety net, normal ie every aid on barely lets you go sideways without interferring my vsc sport hasn't cut in aggressively when pulling away sharply but normal mode has

Unexpected things you like about the GT86
Tareim replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
when fitting my Flex A's I discovered that the boot liner is reversible (flip upside down) to a rubbery plastic type liner that would be useful if you had to carry something that might make it dirty in there -
if you visit this thread on a computer you can click the quoted thread and see the pics

New 2016 Valenti Sequence rear lights
Tareim replied to Captain Duff's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
there was another thread on here that showed the difference between the Valenti bought from a UK trader vs thespeedline and latter was missing the genuine hologram, so yes it's likely a clone -
looking forwards to seeing the dyno comparison to the last dyno day @ TD
-
those wheels look small & lost in those arches lol
-
agreed, I'm not always a fan of thin spokes but certain wheels like these look great

New 2016 Valenti Sequence rear lights
Tareim replied to Captain Duff's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
they are not genuine Valenti just cheaper clones hence why they seem cheap -
I thought the bit on the left was the top part/knob

I've read about this tactic happening a lot in USA, it's just a marketing ploy to try and get you into a brand new car
-
for the diesel no because they are not emissions tested but for our cars yes we would fail with no cats
-
yep, I was talking with the guy doing my MOT and he said he had a diesel come in and was 90% sure it was decatted due to the typical diesel turbo whistle once they are decatted but he couldn't prove it due to not being allowed to remove any of the undertray to look where the cat should've been
-
the primary cat is in the manifold so they have to pass it because they cannot visually see it underneath and are not allowed to remove anything to check, mine passed even with secondary decat
-
can't see a single mention of it for off road use only http://www.tein.co.uk/product/flex_a.html

Other new checks include driver's seat adjustment and defective stability control systems. If a vehicle left the showroom with airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners fitted as standard, they still need to be present and correct if it's going to pass its test. This has been a bit of a worry for drivers with cars modified for track use. If you've swapped your airbag-equipped steering wheel for a tasty racing one, fixed your bucket seat in a permanent position and replaced the original seatbelts with a set of harnesses, does that mean a failed MOT? Probably not, fortunately. A VOSA spokesman has told us that, when the new updates do come in, the inspection manual will include a more thorough definition of modified vehicles in that it will state: "Where a car has been extensively modified or converted, certain Reasons for Rejection such as 'components missing where fitted as standard' should not be applied, for example: A car converted for rally use (i.e. rear seats removed and fitted with a roll cage and full harness seatbelts etc) may have been converted so as not to require a brake servo, power steering or airbags. VOSA says it is expected that modifications to cars converted for track or rally use will be permanent and readily identifiable, and wouldn't include those where an airbag has been disconnected for "occasional" off-road use, for instance. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1130476

this is terrible advice, budget tyres can be downright dangerous in certain conditions. I previously had an MG ZT that came with budget tyres on them and one day when the ground was wet I was on a roundabout and was cut up by some twat which required me to quickly steer away from him, it was only a minor flick yet it sent me spinning around in a fwd car and this was very low speed no more than 20mph
