If you read the handbook you'll see that 5W30 is listed as the option oil for hot climates. all the turbo boys tend to run this weight but I'd stick with 0W20 if you're in the UK and NA

Does standard head unit have line level outputs?
Sonic replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in ICE/Electrical
is the standard head unit that bad? I like the functionality of the unit but would agree that the sound qulaity coudl be improved my usual 1st point of call would be to replace the door speakers and rebuild the door cards to stiffen them up and prevent high frequency vibration -
the service list for these cars is remarkably sparse boils down to replacing the fluids reguarly and thats about it, spark plugs are every 50K miles for exmaple
-
Will the USB port run an internet radio plug in?
-
regarding upgrading the brakes, is a better pad and some dot 5.1 fluid enough for most people do we think?
-
so the same then
-
well don't buy their exhaust then? Isn't Adrian at Fensport allowed an unlocked map from Cosworth these days? So you can buy your JDL , Ptuning setup import it, fit it etc and then get a custom cal from Fensport to tweak the charger appropiatly as for thier forged internals, you'd hope that they would be a simlar price to Carillo etc otherwise, as you say who will buy?
-
I think its the exhaust parts that are a bit expensive, the SC kit looks like good value how much is an intercooled Sprintex kit once you've added the air temp sensor mod and paid for a calibration anyway?
-
go for the standard car, the TRD extras aren't worth it, if you really hanker after something different then spend the difference between the 2 cars on some modifications, there's no shortage of kits fo rinside and out plus plenty of engine tweaks, exhausts, suspension brakes etc etc you can get a 'lot' for 7K

wouldn't fully synthetic auto transmisson fluid help? as most ATF's are pretty thin and don't offer much in the way of lubrication
-
I think the main issue is the lack of oil pressure at high revs and the fragility of the valve train, if you read this post http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63723 it doesn't exactly fill you with confidence about experimenting with 8000Rpm shall we say Personally I'd stick to the 7600rpm limit

long stroke suspension is generally a good idea as anything that allows the tyre to stay in contact with the road better will find more grip than if the suspension bottoms out and allows the wheel to lift
-
Peeps don't know if you've spotted but there's a review of the Cosworth Gt86 in EVO magazine? seems they liked it but thought the suspension setup could do with some work anyone else seen it?
-
does that tie the lower wishbone mounts together then? and does it retain the engine undertray?
-
well lets be honest Cosworth is an engine company after all, seems like they liked the supercharger kit
-
here you go
-
I don't know I've alway liked them as superchargers act as a boost multiplier not an adder, so you lay it out as a turbo to super and you can then have a large turbo with a smallish SC to give you really good bottom end with a bonkers top end
-
twincharge, nice idea stock bottom end though? I somehow doubt that Cosworth would be up for tuning that one.... do you think Cosworth would unlock the tune for Fensport ?
-
is it just Adrian thats allowed this?
-
Mike what is the spec of your exhaust? 2.5"? As the cosworth kits are all 3" did Adrian have to modify the cosworth tune to suit the Avo exhaust?
