Are you ever in the Midlands? Dentcraft in Sheldon would solve this for you for sure. Most well trained PDR guys can sort it. Your local dealer should be very familiar with them.

Unexpected things you Disike about the GT86

No issue with the quality or volume of the stereo as the wife specced JBL in her 86 -
Good to hear V Power is rated. We are lucky to have a shell garage really close by.

Early reliability issues aside, the paint seems very soft / easily marked getting in & out and the lack of steering wheel controls for stereo etc is annoying. -
It's about 4 mph over according to GPS but I was joking on my post.

She did 270 miles in the car today. No faults & she loved it. This happened too. I think the speedo over reads a bit though ....lol
-
The D4S bit is confusing though.....lol

Thanks. There's a Shell garage 2 mins from us & we typically run our cars on V Power. Tesco Momentum is also bob on. She just worried a little as she was out & about. Really pleased she took the car on a long run today though

The good news (for me) is that I've got it for a while to test it as she's lost confidence in it a bit. She's in our trusty FIAT Panda Cross. I've driven it c50 miles this morning. With 750 miles on it, it's driving lovely and I love the thing a lot. My wife will get there I'm sure

Not sure why the flowers appeared twice. Meant to be this:-

Car is back. Now ABS pump etc fitted. The dealer gave my wife nice flowers & a card and Toyota financial services refunded 50% of the first month's PCP. My wife just wants to trust it but has asked me to use it this week. Fingers crossed. Please now be reliable, trustworthy & deliver the joy we know this car can bring.

ABS pump arrived early & has been fitted. Not even interested in looking at the steering calibration issue. Undergoing testing. Make or break (no pun) time then.
-
Bye bye Camaro Did 1542 miles in 10 days & have loved it.
-
Update from the garage, ABS part is further delayed until the 25th but delivery & fitment will happen on that day. No extensive testing then! The Mrs has asked Toyota Financial Services for a significant discount on the first months £511 PCP discount. Seen loads over here, Scion FRS TRDs in the main. Not making the situation better for my wife as really missing hers

Mike is actually a pal / acquaintance of mine through the NEC Classic

I think I may bring this home from the USA to deal with Toyota...lol Or the M107 to use from a distance

Awesome roads down here
-
We've offered that suggestion to them.

Quick question. Could the steering calibration be out of kilter or the steering sensor be faulty, thus throwing the ABS / slip sensor error as a red herring? One of of my friends is adamant that this is the issue, not the ABS pump module but the dealer is having none of it.

Hi from the U.S. Of A. Emailed the garage for an update. Toyota still not approved the part so they've ordered it anyway. Trouble is, it's on back order until the 24th so even if it arrives then, they only have a few days to fix it & test it, not the best part of two weeks we were hoping for. They've escalated the parts supply issues with Toyota but guess what? No reply to calls or emails. If dealers get treated like this, what hope do punters have In the meantime, enjoying the Camaro SS. Driving through Death Valley to Vegas later today

Nothing untoward at all. First time was reversing off her Dad's drive, second time was pulling on to our drive. The Auris diesel estate is actually nice. Got us the 180 miles to Heathrow in comfort, 54mpg & didn't break down....lol

Update from the garage. Same fault code came up so that's good I guess. Due to the value of the part, they say they have to seek pre-authority from Toyota before ordering / changing it. It being the ABS pump module. I guess they are expensive? Fingers crossed for the 28th then. Fully fixed & fully dependable:thumbs:

Her car has £4ks worth of extras. Would have to be a fresh build

Toyota UK tech support line guided the garage as they've never had an 86 back in. Toyota said they'd never seen the fault code so instructed the garage to check, clean, break & re-make the connections to the module and not to replace it, which is what the garage wanted to do.

Thank you & absolutely true except every Alfa and all but one Fiat we've owned has put our GT86 to shame. We both lusted after this car since launch in 2012 (when I drove it). Toyota's reputation is excellent as, incidentally is the garage we are dealing with. We don't want to reject it. My Mrs is heartbroken over it as expected so much more from her first brand new car experience. The garage wanted to replace the ABS pump / solenoid / module last time but Toyota said no. It's not the garage's fault. We've go a 426bhp Camaro SS drop top for two week from Saturday (American road trip from San Fran to Vegas and back up the coast) so hopefully, the issues will be a distant memory and when we get back and get the 86 back on the 28th, all will be perfect
