Do you think we're just unlucky with this car? No one on any forum seems to have had this issue Do you think it's fixable?
-
A diesel Auris estate. Just like a GT86....lol
-
The replacement......lol
-
The 86 is fantastic. Ours isn't. To break down twice in 500 miles is very poor indeed. She waited long enough for it and already loves it (as do I) but neither of us have any trust in it which you have to agree is understandable

Car has been taken back for (hopeful) rectification and replaced with a new Auris Estate. We are away for a fortnight from Friday so have asked that the fix it properly this time. Fingers crossed again then, My wife is properly gutted. Her first brand new car which in 500 miles has been very troublesome. Toyota Financial Services were very helpful. Case opened, rejection if it's not fixed when we return. Let's hope it doesn't come to that,

Thanks. It's to the max & TBH, I doubt this car will get to the point with us where it'll need topping up
-
Well, it's happened again. Lit up like Blackpool. Pig in a poke then. What's the ruling on rejection? Needed a reliable trustworthy car to replace a 10 year old Alfa. Got a PoS instead.

Any issue with using the Prestone ready mixed compatible with anything coolant top up?
-
Agreed, when the Mrs was stranded with the brake warning light issues, had I not insisted that they got us one & had that not been in the, glovebox, she wouldn't have known what the issue is. The first thing Toyota Assistance said was to RTFM.

Morning, Our 86 has come with a manual which bears no resemblance to the car nor offers any tech info ref car checks, running in etc. Please can someone advise what should come with it, for the actual car & also the JBL Touch & Go NAV system? This is what came with it:- Thanks, Simon

Good test. With slightly stickier tyres, the 86 would have mullered the MX but the fun factor would have diminished.

Yes, V6 Q4 Brera (my other car). 2006 with 50k on it. Love it. The Spider is a 1990 Giulia Series 4. Last of the RWD Alfas. The Panda is a Twinair Cross. Quite possibly the best pound for pound car we've owned.

Car is home & hopefully sorted. The were adamant that they followed Toyota tech specialists advice & it was a connection issue. Fingers crossed it's sorted Her she is with my Italian daily driver. The two toys are asleep

Oh dear. Wife just got a call from the service receptionist who didn't know the service manager called me. Saying something about the solenoid being run in test mode & Toyota telling them they weren't to change the pump. So, after the assurance I got from the service manager, she's now worried that they've not actually fixed anything. And it's me that gets it in the ear.....lol.

I got a call this morning about my car (it's my wife's so she's hopping about that now). Seems it was an issue with an electrical connector to the pump / module. On Toyota's insistence, the connection was broken, cleaned (like someone else mentioned, the under bonnet is lathered in green goo) & remade. Tested, no further issues. Fingers crossed then!
-
No news today. Wife was promised updates but didn't get any. She called around 15:00 to chase, was promised a call back but nothing. Great! Anyway, whereabouts is the ABS Module / Pump and is it easy to change without cocking anything else up / doing damage?
-
What you are saying is of course very true. We expected, based on perception, Toyota to be a paragon of virtue in terms of buying & reliability/ service but from the get go, they've done their best to reverse out perception. That's been an unwelcome surprise. Fingers crossed this is a blip. The could be this, not 100% sure that dealer response is very concerning though. Neither of us have the time, patience or inclination to chase faults in a Friday afternoon car. PS. Toyota Customer Services didn't come back to her.
-
Thanks. All she did was reverse out of a space. Two of the lights are Amber, the other red as in do not drive. She needs a reliable car for work & was due to do 300 miles in it tomorrow. Part of the reason she parted with a 10 year old but mostly reliable Alfa was because of this. Gloomy doesn't come in to this. Fecking furious does.
-
She's in an Aygo after some hassle. Dealer aren't convinced the pump / module is the issue. Not good
-
Needs a new ABS pump. Not in stock. Car off the road, no loan car. Crock of shit
-
Can't find anything either. Forgetting the code, what could trigger the master brake system fault light, together with the ABS & slip indicator lights simultaneously?
-
It's what came up on the code reader the AA used when plugged into OBD.
-
I sincerely hope it's a one off. She's out in it today & so far, so good. Still need to know what that code means though......

We live between Neath & Swansea in South Wales. We are taking it very easy with it during the running in period. Hope to get it looked at on Tuesday morning.
