Tuning Developments Manifold & Remap Review
Nicebiscuit replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in Modifications
Should be enough give in the mountings to adjust. It's very slight. Basically it's just kissing something when the engine is flat out and twisting on its mountings. Only happens at 10/10ths on a dry twisty road... You wouldn't notice unless you were hammering it - doesn't even manifest in daily use. Other people have had the same with aftermarket overpipes (mostly on US sites) There's just not that much room there - stock pipe has all sorts of kinks to clear stuff... Not concerning me... TDs car doesn't do it and has a shed load more torque than mine (and still stock engine mounts) so must be sortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Tuning Developments Manifold & Remap Review

Oh - totally agree. It's for totally sentimental reasons. It's just how they should sound to me... Were Porsche always EL? Their air cooled cars also had that off-beat note. And my first car was a VW... [emoji41] Either way it sounds better than stock which was dull. When I had Saabs it was the same. The eighties 900 and 9000 had the same engine, but mounted longitudinally in the 900 and transversely in the 9000 this necessitating different manifold designs. The 900 sounded great, the 9000 rubbish... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

At the front? Yes it does. Heat wrapped and purposeful looking... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Plus you have to consider the bigger tyre. I just bought aftermarket wheels that genuinely do weigh the same as stock out of the the box, even at an inch bigger in both directions. But with tyre they weigh a bit more... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Presumably the American ones have red tail lamps, red indicators, red marker lights, and red reversing lights. Much safer, you see... [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll reserve judgement til I see a real one. I like these photos less that I did the last lot though. Don't mind the overall changes but agree the front bumper looks blobby. Maybe they're going for early-nineties retro? [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The short answer seems to be filter, decatted manifold and remap to go faster, and then rest of the exhaust for a little extra and more noise if that's your thing. Only about 20bhp to be gained which may not seem much for the £s but it's the midrange torque that benefits the most. Very worthwhile. Tuning Developments are our friendly North West based tuner, there is also Fensport and Amber further South. All seem to know their onions and people on here have all sorts done [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mojitos, mmm. Perhaps we've hit on a new competition idea for the next meet. Rear light cocktails... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Simply install a small tap under each light. Hey presto. A handy drink dispenser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can't believe I called this subtle a few pages back. [emoji1] It all looks very well done though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments

Yes. I can vouch for this one first hand - great VFM. The best bit as well is the cost effective upgrade path to turbocharging if more power is craved later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 231 replies

They're not really rivals either - but a Boxster has to be the benchmark for a 2 seater softtop... Abarth have always been a bit odd. I had a 500, which at the bottom of the range was a bit of fun for a small premium over the Fiat variant. But then it quickly got silly with some eye-wateringly expensive special editions. And in any case, if truth be told the twin-air was better anyway if you want a 500. The Abarth pushed a fairly limited platform a bit too far... Very cute though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I liked the old one best though... Lucky so and so getting to drive a 250 tdf [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I do, but the other thing is that by £30k you're into very decent s/h Boxster territory. Would be hard to say no to that... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tuning Developments GT86 Turbo 'TD86'
Nicebiscuit replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Plus then of course you can also offer a 'guaranteed blow-up-your-engine' package. There might be a market for that... I'm thinking angry spouses for example... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 94 replies

You think? Front is just too fat looking. Prefer the original. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought tonight was good too, though I still think too many presenters. Lose Rory, lose Chris Evans... Sorted :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In a word, no. Uglier than the MX5 and far too much extra money. Shame. Was looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interested to know... One way of looking at it is that the standard Michelins are so awful (albeit sort of intentionally) that any decent quality grippy mid range tyre is an improvement. People on here have had the usual suspects - Yokos, Kumhos etc with good results, and on other cars, if anything the Uniroyals have the edge on those. So I'm interested to see how you get on. Aren't Uniroyal Michelins budget arm these days? I think those Rainsports owe a fair bit to the tastier Michelin Pilot Sports as opposed to the low rolling resistance ones we get lumbered with... No idea on the 86, but they're great tyres so I don't see why not... By the way - who the hell puts Chinese ditch finders on an 86 FFS [emoji33] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Me too. Very nice[emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wouldn't vary across surfaces either. Also tends to vary as you load/unload the wheel with a dodgy bearing in bends. In any case, if it is a bearing you end up being left in no doubt as it gets worse [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
