You do get a fair amount of road noise on these as insulation is fairly minimal compared to most modern cars. Mine is certainly sensitive to surface changes. You could just check the tyres. On other cars I've had weird tyre noise resulting from strange tyre wear when the tracking was out. However, Unless someone else says otherwise I shouldn't worry unless it starts getting worse. You've got plenty of warranty left of it develops further... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hopeful future BRZ owner, need some advice
Nicebiscuit replied to Ben halliwell's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Stop it. You're scaring Ben. He only came here to talk BRZs and we're now onto pimped Capris. No doubt with matching tank top and mullet... This is like accidentally walking in on your parents and discovering their S&M dungeon... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

It's good to have a goal, and it certainly should be in your grasp in a few years time. I don't see why you should have any problems. It might be relatively quick, but it doesn't bite and is not at all difficult to drive. Quite a number of people on here are very competent drivers (I've seen them on track!). But I'm not. I'm a bit of a numpty driving wise, so if I can handle it, you can too. Also - In my experience although you get a lot of young drivers wrapping cars around trees, it's not usually the ones who had to spend 4 years saving up first [emoji1] Anyhow - good luck. I went for the aforementioned Yokohamas. Well priced and personally I hated the primacys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jenson is always good value. The biggest issue is still Evans. He doesn't really add a lot and I still wish he'd just turn it down. The McLaren bit was just someone going 'wheeeee' for five minutes, and the guest sections fall a bit flat. Thing is, Clarkson was a pretty good journalist. Evans isn't. Bank Holiday Road Trip

Upper forties is easily achievable when you're running in motorway traffic, so just chilling and listening to the radio. Quite impressive really. Not a priority with this kind of car, but why waste money? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 16 replies

GT86/BRZ/FR-S Manifold/Headers From Tuning Developments
Nicebiscuit replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Or equally the 'glass half full' interpretation might be that TDs EL manifold design is particularly good... [emoji41] Guess we'll never know unless someone has a spare week to spend in Warrington with their car and a big box full of different manifolds! There's clearly some differences between different set ups given the experience with the Tomei further up the thread... But yeah - on evidence so far - for max performance at TD - go EL. Either you're looking at the wrong numbers or I am. The green numbers are the 'before' right? So stock the UEL car makes similar numbers to the stock figures for the EL car on p.5 (there's no 'before' trace on that graph but it's quoted lower down) The 'after' figures are a peak of 210 on the EL car and 203 on UEL so that's 7bhp down. The car with other mods and EL makes 213. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Better comparison is with the chart on page 5 - that's stock as well, but with the EL manifold. A sample of two isn't really representative - but seems like the two cars started roughly the same at 185bhp ish So looks like EL might be the way to go if chasing ultimate numbers, but then it won't make THAT noise. You pays your money and you makes your choice [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Ah - I see what's happening here - manifold as gateway drug to forced induction... [emoji41] My mother always told me not to get into cars with strangers. (Especially not ones that are usefully faster than the car you turned up in...) Reckon you'll sell a few of these over time. Including possibly to me... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I thought it was ok to be honest. Would like Chris Evans to stop shouting, but that's fairly unlikely really. Matt LeBlanc was very good. If they could persuade James May back it'd be ok. Needs to find its feet but it wasn't shit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My free year of breakdown cover is coming to an end and I got the renewal quote, which was surprisingly reasonable. About £70, which given that it includes European cover isn't bad at all. Only had to use them once when the original slightly wheezy battery expired but they were good. AA guy remarked that he'd been to a few duff GT86 batteries but that was the only breakdowns he'd seen... Hope I don't need it, mind :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Live with it a bit first. Had mine a year and in process now of doing filter, manifold, map, coilovers and wheels/tyres. But glad I waited as I had a better idea of what I wanted to achieve. I'll let you know if it was worth it [emoji41] Will take a bit of getting used to. Almost the opposite of something like a VXR. The chassis set up is great - but you do need to wring it's neck to get any grunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

And mods, you can happily delete that too... But he is being rather rude about our membership. Apparently those of us who don't appreciate very expensive Japanese under bonnet eye candy are 'low ballers' and 'twats' Good luck with the sale [emoji11] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ouch. I think most people on here will know EXACTLY what it is. And if they don't they have google. This forum gets loads of for sale threads for all sorts of parts ranging from low end stuff to some serious JDM kit. The common thread though is that stuff sells if sensibly priced. The ads that hang around are the ones where people expect to recoup most of the new price. Kid yourself that it's because people don't know what your fabulous high end strut brace is if you like [emoji12] Generally it's not the done thing to jump on for sale threads - but after seven months it's probably fair game. I think he was doing you a favour... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just give me another nine years... In all seriousness though I would like to put this sort of mileage on the car. I think it's up to it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Folding rear seat certainly helps. Reckon there's room for a 4x12 in there, you just might need to saw it up to get it through the boot aperture :-) Couldn't get all my stuff in. I think I'm up to four acoustics, six electrics and two basses now :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hilix with shed on the back. Am I mad?
Nicebiscuit replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Well, surely all that extra weight at the back would help? ;-) But it's not 'instead of' the Gt86, it's 'as well as'. Currently have a slightly tricked out Citroen Berlingo with a bed in it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
