They do. Can't fault those at all... [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I do find them good. 'Predictable' is probably the best description. I'd put them on a par with the usual European brands. That said though, occasionally I've found I can get the Yokohamas cheaper. Another mid range tyre that punches above its weight is Uniroyal. Their Rainsport is very good... I no longer bother with the obvious brands. I don't find an advantage (had a company BMW shod with all the usual top brand suspects for several years) I would say that Michelin Pilot Sports are superb, but whether worth the extra? Not sure... I've ran those Kumhos on a number of cars and rate them very highly. As good as the more expensive names. Have alternated between them and Yokohamas for a number of years depending on the deal at the time... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very nice... Would be tempted to leave them white. At least for a while. Powder coat them when you get bored... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How so? Thought to get an MOT these days your car has to have all the safety systems it was fitted with from new. To clarify... My understanding was if a car never had airbags, abs etc etc (or can convincingly look like it didn't) you're fine, otherwise not. Even known people caught out by the old dodge of removing warning light bulbs as they check that all the bulbs illuminate correctly at ignition. It's also why my car wouldn't currently pass MOT as I have no TPS sensors on the winter wheels so I have a permanent warning light. Luckily my MOT falls in June...

Only if some of the blokes volunteer too...

And hopefully more to come... The hope is that anyone on here with experience of different suspension mods chips in...

I did enjoy some of the crap cars they got though... Some got a particularly raw deal...

Another 200g for powder coating? Dammit. Was going to get rid of the nasty blingy bits on my stock alloys... [emoji6]

Arggh. This messes with my head. Never understood the semi naked girls/cars thing as beloved by certain tuning mags and parts brochures... I like semi naked girls. I like cars. But not at the same time. I want them to get out of the way so I can see the cars. I think it's a different part of my brain. It's a bit like getting a delicious burger and then someone putting chocolate sauce on it.

Oh, sorry - I thought you said c*ck pavlova.

So I'm supposed to suck a..... I've suddenly gone right off the idea of track days. [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, let me get this straight. Lap timing is a Nono, but you ARE allowed to tether a donkey to your car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

True enough - but it's a trade off between lightness and strength. My cheapo wheels are light, and have stood up well so far - but I wouldn't expect them to stand up to as much punishment as a forged wheel... That said - I could buy two spare sets with the change for when I buckle them! [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't care that there's no conclusion. That'd be too easy, and in any case we'd all then say 'buy X' - job done The point of starting this thread was to gather both experience and opinion in one place. That seems to be working out rather well. And we can talk about cake too if you like... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unless you post about it on here... To be honest I think the kindest thing the mods could do at this point is delete the thread... [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Simple. Just work out when you arrived, when you go home and divide by the number of laps you did... [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm just going to have to buy a set aren't I so we can try it :-D I personally have no doubt the Teins will be better value if the adjustability is needed, which I think it probably would be with most of the users on here. Of course there's always the B14/B16 coilovers too... If I were going down the coilovers route though I'd personally be sorely tempted by the Ohlins for sale elsewhere on the forum (OK, I AM sorely tempted...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My last car was £1500. :-D. Agree though - this car is a bargain for what it is. I wasn't intending to spend so much either but was worth it. Proper sportscar for the price of a diesel Qashqai. What's not to like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And B6/stock springs should be good also - but more biased to comfort/rough Tarmac. Valving identical to B8 in this application. Only stroke differs. And nothing wrong with stock springs (unless you want stiffer/lower ones!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not just comfort... On the god-awful roads we enjoy in the UK, there's something to be said for softer springing as it enables more consistent tyre contact. Surely a fast road set up would have more in common with rally than race car suspension. Hence wondering whether stock springs and Billys might work well. I'd like to keep the suspension travel and spring compliance. I'd just prefer a little more control. I'll happily sacrifice looks and track performance for that. I've owned cars before with overly firm suspension and they were crap on B roads because they would just be a handful if you hit mid corner imperfections (well usually bloody great craters these days) Anyhow - perhaps I shall be the Guinea pig on this one... We all had 'em in our old Saabs - usually bought off someone with a mk1 MX5... They're lovely. Assume you put the stock wheel back on at MOT time... ;-)

Like the Nardi wheel... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Granted, it's in other applications - but received wisdom in some quarters is that expensive dampers can be better use of cash than cheap coilovers. The B6s are designed to work with stock springs. For a more track biased car I'd expect the additional adjustability of coilovers would win out every time mind. I don't particularly want different - just 'better'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't need a reversing camera. I need ****ing bull bars front and rear... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
