Would probably be better if you had a go in mine. Might find out what it's capable of that way... [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Autotrans update

Shame it didn't work out. Guess they didn't expect many auto box purchasers to be into tuning their cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cheers. I might take you up on that [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brake pedal travel

What do Italian cars need brakes for? ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's sharp enough for me... We're not all racing drivers ;-) But I would go as wide as 8". Will just depend on the fitment of the particular wheel I end up with. Looks wise - 8.5 plus looks even better, but just too much for 200 bhp... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brake pedal travel

Or just different to the car you normally drive? My other car has typically over servoed modern brakes. I always stand that on its nose after driving the gt86. I find the travel just right for heel and toeing so you have a firm pedal at about the right height to access the throttle. If it's much lower than that it's probably wrong... If anything I have the opposite problem - it's very keen to lock various wheels. The abs seems to have to work quite hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Know what you mean, but tempted though I am to fit something nice and wide with a bit of depth to the wheels, I really want to keep the wheel size near stock as I like the nimble feel from modest rubber. I'm just aiming for a bit less offset to help fill the arches, and Yokohamas will give me the little extra grip I'd like. 7 1/2 inches wide about perfect... The inevitable coilovers will do the rest. Still looking though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who is the tallest driver here?

I've definitely had more luck with the seat base further forward and the seat back reclined. I then have the wheel quite low and towards the seat. When I get it 'just so' it's really comfy, but get it wrong and it does make you stiff. Mind you that said I'm only 5'9 and have the seat as low as it will go, so it does seem the car is designed with Japanese stature in mind... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Auto- trans. Don't be a jerk. Try SNOW mode.

I believe it can. The manual is also fairly hard to drive smoothly at low speed. I've heard reports of this being rather smoother after a remap.

And so things begin... Spare set of rear lights ordered... I have plans for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Isn't that going to wear the gearbox out? No idea - but if you were starting in second all the time in a manual it'd wear the clutch quicker...

    My first mod... Sort of

I was a coward - got the dealer to fit! Agree they should be standard though...

Yes - I'd have to agree there... But I still haven't entirely come round to the JDM school of styling. Managed to avoid buying an Impreza for years due to the blue paint/gold wheels thing... I think I'm chasing some sort of retro thing. This shot is gorgeous... Almost makes me wish I bought a white one. Always a good sign that a car is basically well proportioned if it can pull off white paintwork...

You see the wheel in real life though - part of the problem is just photography - though I agree to some extent which is why black wheels need a polished rim. All black is too much. You can get these with anthracite or bronze centres too. Bronze wouldn't suit a red car, but jury still out on the anthracite.

Found a pic of the Enkei SR6s in 17x7.5. I like... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk A set of these, black badges, Toms rear lights and possibly a subtle rear spoiler and I'd have it how I want it. (Once I'd also got the coilovers, exhaust and remap of course...)

    GRMN limited edition

Great, but why not make it markedly quicker? There's surely a decent market internationally for a factory turboed variant. (I still hanker for a BMW 1 M Coupe as does everyone else judging by the resale values...)

Would you buy an ex publicity car?

So do I actually - and I'm not usually that keen. I think the kit works well in white. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have absolutely no need for this, but would like it very much. I love their work... [emoji41]

  22. It's not a bad idea that. It's not that anal - only takes one leaky carton of milk from Tesco to ruin your car permanently... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hi

They're all fine. I've got the poverty spec one and it's great. Don't necessarily rule out a new one - you can get good deals. Looking at that Yaris this'll be right up your street - you'll have fun with it :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Performance parts

I think anyone who would grumble about a Lexus unit being used in a Toyota series should probably get out more... Apart from the eligibility side I do like it when people keep engine swaps 'in the family'. It's like a glimpse of what Toyota could have built. Though personally I think you should go the whole hog - fit the auto box, paint the badges gold, and fit a nice ruched leather and shiny wood interior... [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
