A bit too young to be having issues yet. Anyway, they're all still under warranty. My top tip would be to get a few quotes on a new one just to see. In the end that's what I did as used values still seem quite strong, yet decent new deals can be had...

Brand New forged Advan GTs with Yokohama Tyres

Turn your GT86 into an M3? :-D -
Does look fairly low speed. For me it'd depend on the price and how long I was planning to keep it. It'll be hard to sell on obviously unless priced low so factor that in. I wouldn't be put off per se though. Plenty of second hand cars have been damaged and repaired and you'd never know. Especially if they're company cars as repairs don't usually even go through the insurers. Nothing wrong with a properly repaired car if priced accordingly. Perhaps some form of independent inspection?

I'm using the aux lead myself.

Whilst I may end up changing the head unit in time, for now I just wanted to be able to get Radio 6 - so I bought one of these as a quick fix. http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-car-stereos/sonichi-s100-digital-radio-adaptor Wasn't expecting much, but actually works very well in the 86 as it powers from fag lighter and tucks into the centre console box, with only a wire to hide to the aux input. Best bit is the aerial - got a magnetic fit external aerial from the same source and fitted it upside down inside the boot from the underside of the parcel shelf so you can't see it. Reception is terrific. So worth a try for a easily removable and invisible solution.

Merry Christmas to you and the rest of the team. Even after six months my car is still my best Xmas present. See you in the New Year...

They've made a right mess of the numberplate :-D. Otherwise looks great. Have fun...

The Chevy engine is nice, but lacks ambition. How about one of these?

RX8s are great. I've just never been brave enough. :-D

Mind you, if it's only the turbo location, presumably that bit could be modified... I'd always wondered about the compression - with what little I know about such things - the Saab Turbos always ran lower compression than the n/a cars. You couldn't simply bolt the turbo gubbins on... How do the kits get around that - clever mapping?

Yeah well, the weather is just taking the p*ss now isn't it? You can normally count on the morning commute being in single figure temperatures, but not this year. Mind you still find I'm getting better grip on my 205/55 Kumho winters than I did on the stock Michelins! :-D I'll get my money's worth in February in the Alps I hope, though knowing my luck it'll be 14 degrees C there as well...

Bob is now running 55 profile tyres on 16' wheels for winter. Done for practicalities sake but actually I rather like the way it drives. Compliant ride, progressive breakaway and actually more grip from the Kumho winters. Looks slightly daft - but almost cool in a cartoon/eighties rally car sort of way... This is how we used to drive, folks!

Might be. Working from home and I'm hoping things will be quieter by then. PM me nearer the time if you have time to kill. :-)

Well if you fancy a coffee...

What are you up to?

Nice car. Totally different to the 86, but equally true to its roots. A small nimble American sportscar would just seem wrong... :-D

Drives really nicely on old school big tyres...

Certainly wouldn't mind if it looked like this... [emoji41] -

Yeah but then I'd just have to take 'em off when the arch-fillers go on in spring. :-D One things for sure - the Michelins aren't going back on! -

Yes - quite tempting actually... Had a nice drive back from Durham and over the Peak District today, but this weather is just taking the piss out of my winter rubber. Dash said 15 degrees C... Mind you still drives better than the wooden Michelins... ;-D -

Don't worry - kids fit. I have a ten year old and an eight year old. Don't let anyone tell you that as soon as you have a family you need an SUV... [emoji41]

Mind you, if it works as well as the little straps on the front seats don't, we're better off without them...

Fair enough! I've just got an urge to make it go wub-wub-wub... ;-)
