Love it! If you dig around on YouTube there's a rally spec Jazz as well, with fat arches and 2.0 mugen power. Also ace.
-
Do they really? That'd be awesome. Especially with not much in the way of external mods...
-
I like the Jazz. It's a neat design. They should have crammed something pokier under the bonnet though. Would have made a great hot hatch as a type R...

You'll be old one day.... ;-)

Woodford today - at the site of the Avro factory where it was born...

It's pig ugly. But kind of cute. And four people fit just fine in my 86. It's my family car (whether they like it or not...)

Unexpected things you Disike about the GT86

That's not bad at all. Is that a 'Toyota fit' model then, as you don't seem to need the bezel you end up with with a standard double din. Edit - just read the later post - yes it is - ignore me.... :-) -
Wise is he who specifies the armrest... (And comfier)

Ah, not on my poverty spec one they don't. Take key out, it's game over. It's ok - part of the whole retro thing :-). Serves me right for being a skinflint too... ;-) -

The radio basically, specifically the way you have to scroll through sources to flip between iPod and FM. Why all the blank options? What else? The slightly too narrow rear track. Either fill the arches or at least offer an 'option' wheel that does. The brake light is a bit silly. The fact that you can't wind the windows up or fold the mirrors after you've turned off the ignition. Like its 1985 again. Oh and the pointless analogue speedometer. (This isn't bad - my list of irritants is normally a lot lot longer) -
Love it. Just the right level of stealthiness.

I've never really bothered about different fuels, but the 86 doesn't really like the Tescos stuff does it? I think it's noticeably better on VPower, so that's what it'll get... The diesel doesn't seem to care. All uk fuel seems ok, but the stuff they sell in French supermarkets is hilariously bad. Runs like a bag of spanners until I get it a drink of Shell to clear its throat...

I like the digital speedo in the 86, but I don't understand why they bothered fitting the daft analogue one. I'm sure they could have thought of something more useful to put there... There's another 85/mx5 video here... http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/comparison/2015/mazda-mx-5-vs-toyota-gt86-track-battle-of-the-rwd-handling-kings/

The top half of the Rev counter turns out to be where all the good stuff was hiding... ;-)

Bloody hell... :-(

Interesting vid here... http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-video/video-best-sub-%C2%A330k-drivers-cars-tested Disloyal though it may sound, I think the MX5 makes the GT86 look a little expensive. Or to be fairer, the MX5 looks ridiculously cheap. It's clear the MX5 rolls more, but still looks fun. It potentially puts the GT86 in its own niche for people who want a bit of track focus, need occasional back seats, or just hate ragtops. Good to see that they both trash the mini and Clio though... And given I need the seats, I don't care anyway! :-D

Sorry for your loss. He sounds quite a guy.

Fingers crossed - but it might take a bit more faffing yet. Modern cars don't seem to break as much, but when there IS an issue, accurately tracing the fault seems to be a nightmare... I hope its second time lucky... It is nice isn't it? Takes a while to tune into - I'm up to 2.5k now and only just feeling completely at home with it...

The go to cheapish lightweight wheel is the Team Dynamics pro race 1.2. Again you see the odd failure but they seem reasonably resilient. Interestingly BBS do a similar style wheel to those FOXs around the same sort of price. Cast again I'm sure, but presumably not utter rubbish.
-
Potential summer wheel for me, as don't really want to go to 18' but the smidge of extra width and less offset really improves the look over stock.
-
Interesting... Particularly how light those Fox wheels are over stock. Good value I'd say...
-
What are those wheels? Love 'em... [emoji41]
