You must be mainly legs then! Plenty of room behind me at 5' 9. I think I'm Italian car shaped... * I.e. I have short legs. I'm not the shape of a Maserati.

First mod (if you don't count the armrest Richard kindly had fitted). Never had a Japanese car before, but the kids have grown up on Studio Ghibli films - so we have Totoro, Catbus and Jiji to keep an eye on their part of the car.

Wossat then? If you mean cat n fiddle, then back down to Bosley crossroads and back to Macc then yep - done that already four up. This is a family car after all... First impressions - every bit as good as I expected and then some. And that's bearing in mind I'm only using the first 4000 rpm. Basically it's fun even going slowly. Worth every penny. What on earth is that green gunk they stick all over the engine though? Almost had kittens when I opened the bonnet. That and the smoke coming out as things burn off... So much for new car smell [emoji1]

MINE! I'm going out. I may be some time.... [emoji41]

You tease! 12 hours and counting... [emoji4]

Absolutely. It just happened that this car came with all the stuff I wanted anyway... Certainly not doing it for weight loss! As for resale - I usually find it makes little odds - pay less now, get less later. And the plan is for long term ownership - I hope. I may well make an exception for sounds though... Waiting and seeing, but may end up with something a little beefier in due course.

Not for me - I'm allergic to gadgets... :-) Was funny a few years ago picking BMWs off the company car list, everyone else went for littlest engine, biggest wheels, highest spec. I did it the other way round... :-D.
-
Probably because I wanted a bog standard base spec one, and very few others do, I expect. I expect Toyota GB sighed with relief that they'd found a buyer...

That looks ripe for a bit of light modification...

Having looked at what campers/day vans go for, if you make a decent job of it you could get your money back in a couple of years...
-
What a deal! Got to be pleased about that...
-
Please don't share photographs of that...

Grrrrr. The least you should be able to expect when paying top dollar for franchised servicing is that they fully understand the car and its service schedule. I've had that before too with other brands, where I feel they should end up paying me for doing their homework for them... Good job I live in Macclesfield isn't it?

If you get it do you promise not to punch any of us? -
That's not bad actually.

So if you were buying 16" wheels, what would you buy?

Some good news - turns out I'm getting 17' wheels on the car rather than the 16's I was expecting (which makes me even happier with the deal I struck...) But that means I have a nice redundant set of winter tyres which happen to be the right size for the stock 16x6.5 wheels. So... If you were buying a set of 16s, what would you buy? I guess the tyres would stretch to 16x7 but no wider... -
Review: RRG Macc MY2015 GT86 Aero with tuning parts

I had a go in this too. It was great and agree about the exhaust and induction mods. One question. Are the wheels really 18x7? So same width as standard ones? I'd assumed they were 7.5' wide. Lauren - I notice you've stuck with 17' wheels on your car, albeit wider. Any reason particularly? I have to say I was impressed how well Richards car rode on 40 profile tyres. Certainly better than the two previous cars I've had running those sidewalls. Firm, sure, but not crashy. -

Interestingly it seems a few other cars share the PCD and bore. Rover 75. Who'd have thought it... -
Well. Stephen Hawking was wrong. Time doesn't only stop at the event horizon of a black hole. It also stops when you know your shiny new Toyota is down at RRG, not half a mile from your front door, being primped, prodded and polished, ready for delivery.... Which isn't 'til Saturday. It's like being 5 again waiting for Xmas...

I think the biggest issue isn't the studio stuff. All the names being floated about would be fine. It's the filmed segments and specials. You believed that Jeremy, James and Richard would genuinely choose to spend a trip in each other's company, and that's a big part of the success of the formula. Can you seriously imagine Chris Evans and Jodie Kidd convincingly camping out in some sort of daft vehicle they made themselves? -
Some of these dealers seem to have a weird concept of 'menu price' servicing...

I like Jodie Kidd, but she does come across as awfully wooden with a script. Not a great fan of Jason Plato - there must be a racer somewhere with a personality. Always liked Tiff, but he's probably had his day. -
It's your car that got me thinking about it... [emoji106]
