Funnily enough I noticed this today on mine. A lot of light scratches. Not aligned with the wipers so must have been during washing somewhere. Bit annoying. Never noticed it on other cars I've owned. Wonder if it's more noticeable cause of angle of screen versus sun (or something...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That Puma is gorgeous. I miss my standard car, but it's probably mainly iron oxide by now. Can't remember the last time I saw one that wasn't rotten... :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another thought - I have my phone mount (used for nav etc) on top of the dashboard just above the vent there. There's a spot where it doesn't actually block any vision just your view of the pillar. I had it mounted by the vent before and it annoyed because I either lost use of the vent or it was blasting hot/cold air at my phone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...and mine was run in as per Toyotas instructions and also uses a bit of oil :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree about the lack of the 'three flashes' on the indicator. That's annoying and a weird omission. I'd also add the annoyance of having to press a button to fold the mirrors whilst the ignitions still on. The back seats are perfectly serviceable though and make all the difference. Can you think of another sports car under £30k that you can fit your kids in? I couldn't - which is why I own one. They might be tight - but I'd have to put them in the boot of an MX5! So there's the niche. People who quite fancy a Caterham, Elise or even a secondhand Cayman but have a family! Not all Dads covet a Q7 ;-D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Keethos' GT86 Journey Back To Health + Mods

I noted with interest the news on the Gazoo Racing Yaris this week. That'll give Riceburner something to sell to the front wheel drive brigade... Looked promising... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Went out on mine in the snow the other day. Brilliant fun. And that was with winter tyres on. Biggest issue at low speed is the sharp throttle, but as others have said you know exactly what it's doing so it's not going to get too lairy. Wouldn't have fancied it on the Michelins though. One thought was just how treacherous British conditions are - the snow/ice/slush combo you get here is a world apart from what you get in properly cold countries. Driving on snow in the Alps was a breeze by comparison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...Only because I couldn't get the Japanese market one with the steel wheels and black bumpers! [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most of ours are on track days though so they don't count surely [emoji41] Anyway - its swings and roundabouts - on the one hand premiums are rising. On the other, our cars are becoming rarer by the day ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are you sure about that? I've never met the other one... :-D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guilty pleasures. What would you give up your GT86 for?

There isn't much, but on the way home today stopped at the supermarket and spotted my lottery win car. Classic Porsche 911 2.4. Gorgeous, and even the right colour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
How strict is the Toyota warranty?

Worth getting a few quotes... I'm a lot older than you, but was surprised how little extra it cost for the mild mods I've got (the usual - remap, exhaust bits, wheels, suspension...) I think with this car it's relatively common and probably not the same profile of owner as - say - a modified Vauxhall Corsa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Depends on budget I guess. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you want something lazier but still with a bit of a bite in the tail try a BMW 1 series coupe. Underrated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rrg's body shop did mine. A good job and they managed to save a panel I thought had had it... But then again it was on the other guys insurance... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He's had it since release, no other owners [emoji6] Ah - apologies - confusing it with another one... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's great news. Any insight into what happened/caused the failure? I'd also say keep it. I suppose in the end you don't know the history of the car. A previous owner might have run it low on oil for example. Now you have a brand new motor you can look after it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seen at Geneva yesterday. Toyota C-HR

Now THAT's cool. When I grew up in the depths of Yorkshire, loads of people had the original Panda 4x4. Unbeatable for a cheap workhorse. I quite like the Dacia Duster too. France is full of them - with good reason. When it comes to vans/SUVs/4x4s I want something I'm happy filling full of muddy shoes and Bikes. That said - my Berlingo is fine hacking through the alpine snow on skiing duty. Snow tyres trump 4 wheel drive for the most part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Why is the rear visibility so awful on so many modern cars? All that metal in the rear three quarters doesn't do much for the looks in any case. Just put some more glass in there! One of the points of having an SUV is the elevated driving position and great view. These coupe/SUV mash ups seem to offer the worst of all worlds. Nice car history. You're one of the few owners for whom the '86 will be a step up in plushness and practicality :-) You've made the best mod already. The Primacies are awful. Mine drives better on the winter rubber even though I'm running that on 16' wheels ;-) When it comes to summer you might want to consider putting something else on and saving the Primacies for the next owner :-) As for feeling slow - it's mainly the lack of torque in the midrange. That can be fixed with a few cheap(ish) mods and a remap... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Indeed I know all the history and not just with my car. I really want to avoid people's conjecture which I have seen many times on car forums, I expect you can imagine what it's like when I used to own a RX7! At least it wasn't an RX8. They seem to go through engines like other cars do headlamp bulbs :-). Still love the rotaries though... Whatever the history of your car (and frankly engines going pop in 86s doesn't seem particularly linked to extreme tuning based on other threads) I will make the observation that your car looks lovely. Great wheels, great stance and love the stripes. Hope you enjoy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmm - that cat back is tempting to compliment the rest of your exhaust bits on my car... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Good for them :-). Doing the right thing I think... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well - watching with interest to see what the diagnosis is. The mods should be a red herring as very mildly tweaked. Let's see. Hopefully it's an unlucky failure and Toyota properly stand behind it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
