Cobra Front Pipe and Cobra Downpipe
Gringosteve replied to Davey1818's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Amazing looking system! -
Is he still on here?
-
Doubt an OBD plug does anything. ECU "chips" are often resistors wired in to mess the fuel or O2 sensors to fool the ECU into screwing the timing or throwing more fuel. These do have an effect but exactly what that effect will do to your engine is anyone's guess

Hmmmm interesting. My mate put a Camaro LS3 engine in an S2000. Amazing motor (while it lasted). Looking forward to hearing more

Gunmetal sounds epic
-
Which v8?!
-
You can get high flow stealth exhausts, probably need a resonated decat front pipe to get rid of rasp and keep the mid pipe resonated
-
I think it is the free revving feel to the engine I can notice as opposed to feeling a power increase. I had previously fitted a panel filter which will help I guess like your intake. This way when I want to I can swap out the next components down (cat back) when I have the free cash/desire 7bhp for £120 is a bargain IMO
-
I think you will remove more of the dip with a new manifold but you run the risk of MOT failure I believe that way round. I was on a budget and this route is much cheaper than a manifold and remap, but not as much gains
-
Yes standard so that I pass MOT and don't need a remap. I realise it may seem a strange choice but the second cat is very restrictive. This blog post convinced me http://blog.perrinperformance.com/brz-front-pipe-design-and-proving/ http://blogperrinperformance.com/brz-overpipe-design-and-proving/ The front pipe on top of a catback gave a significant difference in torque either side of the dip, and increased power at the top end:

Hayward & Scott decatted front pipe fitted: I was looking for a performance improvement without drone so the rest of the system is standard. It has hit my requirements, other than cold start the exhaust sounds close to stock, maybe slightly more volume and more interesting tone. The car feels much more responsive and free revving, and the torque dip feels narrower (starts at higher revs now) For £120 well worth the spend and very easy to fit!

That was with a lance and snowfoam. Think the foam was a bit too dilute
-
Sorted new insurance out with Sky today, saved £100.. Happy days
-
How much would you be looking for the intake?
-
Still no squeal They are slightly dustier than the OEM, had to use wheel cleaner for the first time since I owned the car yesterday. Braking performance and my confidence in stopping power have both improved. Quick snow foam shot from yesterday

I don't know which lights to choose!

Valenti for me, there is a group buy in the FRS US forum where they are selling modded Valenti with scrolling indicators as they are bored of waiting -
sad but there must be an interesting engine swap item on the horizon
-
Alpine heads used to be the best IMO but it has been a few years since I was installing ICE
-
Ahh, the curves look epic!

Weirdly the link takes me to:
-
How much to fit and tune dudes, and how come it doesn't whine?
-
And you live in Inverness
-
Sorry to hear about your car, I know one thing for sure.. It's next iteration is going to be even better than originally planned
-
Cold start is the loudest with the heavy valve overlap, especially on cars with secondary decat

Won't be at Bedford but will be at JapFest on the club stand
