Just got a car boner
-
Ah no problem my Latvian friend, your English is perfect!
-
Also take a look at rainbow speakers, very good

Church, if you are local to Manchester or coming to JapFest I can fix that for you with my OBD tool. You can turn off auto a/c and auto a/c functions so that when you press front demist the a/c doesn't come on
-
Please can someone test this for me today. Start the car and turn A/C off and Auto off (in that order) Set the temp to Lo Press auto Did your A/C light come on automatically?

Easily the best garage I have used for any car. A brilliant team
-
Yup 5.1 in a car is pointless and actually sounds crap for music as it tries to push the vocal stage to the centre speaker leaving the L and R channels sounding echoey
-
Better to have an amazing pair of front speakers than mediocre front and rear speakers, especially in a cabin as small as the 86

Orbital did a DVD album in 5.1, in reality the only thing that could play it 5.1 at the time was a DVD player http://www.discogs.com/Orbital-The-Altogether-51/release/182434 I have a copy in my dusty collection

No squeal so far, other than a very faint squeak when first installed and only once. Assuming it was a bedding in noise as it hasn't happened since. Too early to give a verdict on dust vs OEM but my wheels do have dust on them after just under 200 miles (no surprises there). I haven't felt much difference in terms of cold and warm performance. Maybe a tad better warm but barely noticeable.

From a broken toy Ferrari I nicked off my son. Finally I can change volume easily

Coming up to 200 miles on the brakes so probably bedded in. The initial bite is less than the OEM pads but in a good way, it allows for gradual and precise partial application of brakes for gently scrubbing speed. When wanting to stop quick these are superior to OEM, very powerful I'm still a fan of the noise generator, sound is much better now the foam has been removed from it. Thinking of modifying it so it cuts through the footwell carpet and noise insulation for full volume

All gone very quiet!

Brilliant post what makes the 60k service so expensive? My father in law has his own garage so only need to pay for parts. The fuel filter looks a pain!
-
Brakes are bedding in nicely, seem to have a relatively gradual feel to them but that could be the bedding in as I have only done 30miles, have had to use them firmly once so far and car stopped well

Unexpected things you Disike about the GT86
Gringosteve replied to remal's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Did the latest Elise have tap turn.. This are relatively light weight and stripped back sports cars. It's one of the only cars I can think of that doesn't have steering controls either. Less weigh and more money on running gear -
Nice!

All fitted, too early for a review as they are not bedded in. A few things worth noting if you are moving from OEM pads 1) They don't come with shims. You can reuse the OEM shins, easy with the rear pads as they clip off. Front shims are glued on so need to be prized off.. No big issue 2) My annoying squeal at low speed has gone!!! 3) My mechanic remarked how good they look, especially the sintered surface 4) one of the rear pads was missing the low pad warning device, again no big issue.. But a bit random Can't wait to bed them in!!!

Dixcel Pads and new OEM discs fitted today, the squeak has gone!! Will see how they bed on before I give verdict. The original rear pads were far more worn than the fronts. All four discs were very lipped with high spots. Also changed the diff oil...

I currently have it on 1080p at 30fps which is about 15mb/s. There is a 1080 @ 45fps and an even higher resolution (think it's a bigger aspect ratio). And plenty of lower resolutions also. I have a single 64gb card in it at the moment but can take two 128gb cards. I will get about 7 hours of recording . Will upload some videos soon so you can take a look It also does lane departure warning (don't use that), shock detection (which protects that video file from being overwritten), GPS logging and think you can also record when parked if you have a permanent live.. It only records then if it detects motion

Fitted the dash cam this afternoon didn't take long and you get an array of fitting kit: Wired it behind the rear view mirror so it is hidden: Then tucked the wires up the top of the windscreen and down into the glovebox: And you cannot see it easily from the outside, I wanted it discreet: Just checked the video quality.. It's amazing, even at night (only tried a street lit busy road so far in the dark) and that's not even on the highest resolution.

Drove to the shops today, first time the car has moved since Tuesday as I have been transporting the family in the CRV. Feels good to be back at the wheel..may get chance to fit the dash cam later
