Rover 75/MG ZT is 5x100 and should have a space saver Certain Subaru Forester space savers also fit, I got a second hand one from eBay for £15.

I'll book a table for food at 1pm, if the weather's rubbish we can have a drink in the bar until the tables ready.

Driving down to Le Mans I saw traffic police with radar guns in sniper ghillie suits hiding in the embankment by several bridges! I know they come out in force for Le Mans (pay day right!) but as Lauren says, don't speed because chances are you will get caught.
-
Could be that you're struggling to get decent tyre temps with such a wide tyre, driving style related or a good bit of both!
-
Hmm, ok. Seems like a similar situation to that of Lauren's, and why she's stuck with a narrower tyre. What's worth mentioning though Dan, is that there is a difference in power delivery between yours/Rob's setups compared to mine. While the TD kit is, to my mind, a very smooth power delivery for a turbo, there's no getting away from the fact that there is a distinct "on" position for boost, whereas yours are both building boost from much lower in the rev range. I think Mark agreed with me when I last spoke to him too, that the throttle on the TD map is very sensitive. Seems like 80% of the power comes on with the first 30-40% of the throttle, so even the slightest movement of your right toe can get the tyres spinning. If I drive it like a sensible person, I absolutely agree that 225's are fine. It's only when I get on it and go for a spirited drive that I start to lose a bit of confidence, which I feel would have to be helped by a little more grip. Maybe worth asking Mike for one of the maps to have a softer throttle map with more progression and see if that helps before deciding which tyre width to go for?
-
Mines supercharged with similar power to the TD turbo kit and 225s on 8" rims are absolutely fine for me. You have to be really aggressive with either steering, throttle or both to get the rear to break loose in the dry. It's also worth bearing in mind that as tyres get wider the shape of the contact patch changes and while they may have more ultimate grip, they are much less progressive as they lose grip over the top of the traction vs slip curve.

@Leevsfortyone @Ztox shame you can't make it, attendee list updated.

It's similar for me from MK and the same for those SW London area so should work well for a good few of us. Probably a mid to late March date for the next one.

Will definitely bear this in mind for the future. There's a really good Indian and Thai place on the outskirts of Oxford. http://snootymehmaan.com

I bought a G29 in the Christmas sales for Dirt Rally, I've just been using the clutch pedal as the brake so far, will have to check out the Nixim mods.

Short and simple list for me: - Get car back from bodyshop - Try really hard not to have an expensive off again! Joking aside: - Fit TRD rear spoiler and debadge boot - Fit oil cooler and oil pressure sensor, add low oil pressure Racerom derate. - Change ride height and realign (its too low at the front and too high at the back currently) - Design and fit heat shield to stop P0351 fault code on track days
-
Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel is pretty good too.
-
Are they the Genuine trd ones that come pre painted? Mines an unpainted one, but yes they're genuine TRD parts.
-
Shame you can't make the 25th Mikey, buy hopefully it will turn in to a regular meet. Go for it, Falix, only question is lunch time or a late afternoon meet. I guess we can offer both for now and see what the general consensus is.

The joy of modern super safe crash structures. A pain in a relatively light impact like ours, but a life saver in a much bigger off.

I know Fensport have a few coming in on a boat from Japan as I have one of the batch reserved.

Car is now stripped, unfortunately the chassis leg is tweaked as well so it needs to go on a jig and be straightened, bugger!

There's plenty of parking at The Prince George as well and the food is nicer but pricier. The Caldecotte Arms is just round the corner from me, but I don't have a strong preference either way. @Mikey P do you know which night the MX5 owners club meets so we can avoid? There's a midland breakfast meet on the 18th February now, so we don't conflict shall we go for 25th February instead at the Caldecotte Arms?

Can't wait to see videos of this in action, what a beast!

Group buy on the electronic adjuster?! Just had a nose on the Amber website and that looks like just the ticket!
-
Will do, I'm counting down the days until she's back in full health :-) Sounds like you're having similar trouble to me with ridiculously lax body shops!

You can rent the cables rather than buy them outright, but there's plenty of friendly peeps who have them as well.

That depends on whuch software version it was remapped with, earlier versions of ECUTEK always defaulted back to Map 1 when the ignition is cycled, but later versions retain the setting at key off. Its easy enough to check by pulling the cruise control stalk and seeing where the rev counter needle goes to. Anyone with an ECUTEK cable should be able to plug-in and see what settings are on/off in the different maps, but comparing fueling, ignition and cam timing etc will take some time unless they've got the tuner version which has a compare tool.
