Having a problem locking the car. Happened a couple of days ago and I spent 20 minutes trying to lock it and ended up being late for work and it's just happened again now. The touch of the door lock doesn't work, neither does locking it using the buttons on the key fob or by using the pop out key on the fob. I've tried both keys and neither seem to work. It can't be the batteries in the fob surely as the car is only 3 months old. Anyone else had this problem and if so know how to sort it? Cheers.

Cheers guys. I haven't had the same problem today. Seems to work fine again but that was the second time it had happened. I never thought about it being my phone so I'll just make sure in future I keep the two apart and see if it happens again. If it does I'll contact Toyota. Fingers crossed it doesn't!

It did lock eventually. I used to have a similar problem with my 2002 Mini if anything metal touched the airbag sensors under the seats. Yeah the windows are going up fine when I shut the doors. I'm really confused as to what's going on. Worried it decides to not lock at all as I don't even have a garage I can lock it in.

Nothing at all. If I use the fob the light on the fob will show red when I push any of the buttons including the boot lock which also doesn't work...

If you wouldn't mind that'd me great thanks. Looking to get mine ordered and fitted by the weekend.

Do you know what size plates you used?

Picked up my new GT86 on the 18th of August from Macrae & Dick Toyota Inverness. Spec: Red Aero Half leather heated seats Centre armrest JBL sound pack DAB Sat Nav Roadhawk HD dashcam Covered just over 1,200 miles since it got it and ran it in by staying out of 6th gear and cruise control, and drove in one lower gear than I usually would. Every 250 miles I up'd the revs from 4,000 rpm by 500 rpm until reaching 1,000 miles. Now I can really enjoy it! Been down to AMD Details of Elgin to buy a whole load of new washing and detailing stuff. They sell some of the best products I've used on any of my cars. Anyone looking to get the Aero, Toyota have changed the spec slightly by getting rid of the OZ Racing alloys and replaced them with their own black ones and added a black tip to the rear spoiler. Both of which I think look much better if the car is in red. Going to de-badge 'Toyota' & 'GT86' on the car this week and PlastiDip the front and rear Toyota badges black. I'm also looking to fit some Jap style plates, however I'm looking for some number plate mounts (front & rear). Does anyone know where to get some that don't require any drilling into the bumpers?

I had a look on their website and couldn't find anything. I was thinking perhaps fitting the Jap style plates just using the sticky pads. 330mm wide x 165mm high front and rear plates where what I was looking at getting from Demon Plates. Anyone know if the holes left from removing the front number plate mount would be hidden just by using pads?

Gonna give the car a wash today so I'll stick up a couple of pictures of the wheels and spoiler.

27 days until I'll be the proud owner of a red Aero GT86. Literally cannot wait as my last car was written off and it wasn't my fault. Been 5 months nearly without a car! Anyway I know in the manual it says to drive below 4,000rpm for the first 1,000 miles, however does anyone have any better advice or knowledge of running the engine in? Cheers.

I've had wind deflectors on all of my previous cars, however I cannot seem to find any for the 86. Anyone have pictures of them on their own cars or know of somewhere I can buy a set. It's only 20 days until I get my red Aero 86 and I literally cannot wait. I'm going to be starting a project thread as soon as she arrives. Got plans for a few TRD parts and some under the bonnet goodies from Cosworth. Hopefully if all goes to plan I might make Japfest 2. Cheers!

Best Way To Run In New GT86...
James Hilton replied to James Hilton's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I saw on my old car forum that usually when people drove their cars hard from the start, obviously letting it warm up first, the engines produced more power on a rolling road than those that were run in softly. I ran my last car in by the manufacturers recommendations and it was meant to be 133 bhp stock yet it only produced 122 bhp... Modified the living hell out of it though to 170 bhp. RIP Twingo. Thanks for the advice. -
Best Way To Run In New GT86...

Hmmm... Quite a few mixed ideas. Speaking from experience what do people think would be best for performance BHP and Fuel Economy? Cheers. -
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and have just ordered a manual red Aero GT86 with JBL Sound Pack, Centre Armrest, DAB Radio, Sat Nav & black half leather heather seats. My first 'real' new sports car! I'm looking to have the Litchfield Performance Pack, Full Handling Pack and K & N Panel Filter fitted shortly after I pick the car up in August. What mileage would you recommend I put on the car before fitting the mods and mapping it? Does anyone on here have any of the above fitted to their car and know of any common faults to look out for or anything they've experienced with them. Also do any of you know how the Full Throttle Shifting and Launch Control work? Cheers!

Should probably also ask if anyone who has the springs has problems with speed bumps? My old car was lowered 35mm all round and it made me wince every time I went over a one.

Cheers everyone, I live up North in Aberdeen (The Land of the SNP) unfortunately. Haha. Travelling isn't a problem. With my last car I drove 1,200 miles round trip twice in 2 years to Dorset K-TEC Racing with my old RS 133. I would however in the off chance something were to go wrong be able to contact the company easily. What attracted me to Litchfield was that they do 'appear' to be a very prestigious company... Not sure if that's the correct word but you'll understand what I mean I hope. Personally I was probably going to drive it under 4k rpm for the first 1,000 miles of country road driving and then another couple of thousand before modding it. With regards to the problem with the Milltek system, does anyone know if they've sorted it. Would have thought a company as large as them would want that ironed out as soon as possible.
