From my experience of drinking with the English, I struggle to comprehend your, frankly pathetic version of "drinking" The valleys make a man out of many a boy.

Sending you a PM Neil

There is a meet on the 13th in Walsall, fairly middle ground for the both of us. I'll be heading up regardless, but if you haven't sold it by then and you're free, I could have a quick look at the meet. If I decide to go ahead, we could sort something out there. If you get chance to sell before, then please go ahead

To be honest, while the diagnostic tools available on these kind of head units are cool, I just want to upgrade the standard head unit to something with DAB and Nav, two things I'm fairly sure this can handle with ease. The torque app may get used sometimes, but it's not a major concern of mine. As an upgraded head unit, I imagine this thing is leaps and bounds above the stock unit.

Always been interested in picking up one of these, but every time one comes up for sale, it's at the wrong time (especially as I booked my car in for remapping about 5 minutes ago). I'll have a think when I get home and see if I can justify spending even more money this week.

I went with the Valentis recently. As nice as the Toms are in the night, the all red cluster doesn't do much for me when the lights are off. At least with the Valentis, you have the white accent to spruce up the clusters, even when the lights are off. They sure don't disappoint with the lights on either (excuse crappy phone pictures):

My thoughts @rob275 were to look for somewhere around the Stonehenge kind of area, my parents are extremely well travelled, so I will gather some recommendations from them (of course, if others have suggestions then feel free to fire them my way either here or via PM). As there is a meet in the north west in mid February, I was thinking sometime in early to mid March would be good. Although, saying that, if all goes to plan tomorrow when I speak to @Mark@Abbey M/S, I may be down Surrey way at the start of March (Friday 4th, and possibly the following weekend), so could organise something for then instead/as well as.

The local exhaust place I use offers a transfer of the existing lifetime warranty over to new customers for a small fee (when either the car is sold or the exhaust is swapped to a new car). The warranty is with the materials, not the car, so I'm sure they'd be happy to figure something out.

Should probably post a picture in here, if nothing else but to remind myself what the car looks like when it's (occasionally) clean.

Too close to say no. Weekend after my birthday too, so a good excuse to make the most of the day.

Continentals will be a generally recommended tyre on this forum from what I've seen, although if the Goodyears are in decent knick, you could just buy 2 more for the front and save a bit of money, they're good tyres too. Personally, I've always stuck by Vredesteins on most of my cars, they give 95% of the grip in the wet and dry of a Continental or Michelin, for a significant saving, and they seem to last for a seriously long time. Welcome to the club either way

Like I said on your thread on another site, I like the fact that you did something different. I doubt you'll get much approval of the air ride on this site either, as there are lots of keen drivers here, but you clearly didn't build the car for racing, so props for doing it your way. Not sure if you've ever thought about this, but I think those wheels would look great in silver, as opposed to white. Would make it look a little more classy. Just my 2p. Either way, welcome to the forum

Yeah, I was already looking into it, and will continue to go ahead with it, just figured I'd ask. When I asked about meets closer to my location, a few people from down your way seemed interested, so with that in mind, just made sense to combine the two.

Rob, any chance you'd be willing to stretch slightly further west on the odd occasion? I'll more than likely be along to this one, but a 5 hour round trip is a bit of a trek for a meal lol. I'm sure there would be some more interest from people over my way if it was more like a 3-4 hour round trip every now and again.

35% power increase is dubious, even from a £400+ remap, let alone from a £10 box. 35% torque increase on a turbo diesel isn't a million miles away, but again, not from a box.

As an engineer, I'd be interested to know the extent of electronic components they could cram into this for under a tenner, considering they're obviously making a profit. My guess is, much like 90% of the similar products on the market at this price range, it's either a circuit with the sole purpose of turning on an LED, or they've fitted a generic microchip which has no purpose other than looking technical.

I personally like the idea of introducing a logo to it, but if you decide against that, I would say paint it black.

How to get a great car insurance deal in 2016
S18 RSG replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance Companies
By "insurers" that suggests all insurance companies, which is clearly not the case, as there are multiple owners under the age of 25 on this site, myself included. Could you clarify what's meant by that? -
Thanks Lauren. Some of that is actually relevant. Luckily for me, I'm not getting into an area that relies on my interviewing skills, which I can imagine wouldn't be up to scratch. The majority of my work will be based online, working with bookmakers and betting websites, with the idea being to provide a short overview of the upcoming event/match, to give some useful tips and advice to punters. This is already in place in some mainstream sports, but in eSports (my speciality), even the core betting markets have only recently been introduced. The most in depth work I'll be exposed to will be writing articles for news sections of BBC Sport, Yahoo etc. covering recent, or upcoming events, and hopefully increasing interest in the industry as a whole.

Hi all. Random question, but I figure there are worse places to ask. Do any of you have any experience of working in a journalism field (more specifically sports journalism), or have any experiences based around that industry? I have to attend the ICE Expo in London in February to meet with a news outlet who are interested in taking me on as a full time sports/esports editor. I have no qualifications, and limited experience in the field, this has simply come about due to the work I've done for them in the past. I just wanted to know if there are any tips you can give me about the industry, any experiences, good/bad that you've picked up over the years, or indeed anything else of relevance that could help. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that's why I immediately felt stupid haha. I meant I like the idea of trying a club sticker across the dashboard. Would certainly fill that large gap on the passenger side.
-
I took this as stickers specifically for the interior (for example across the dashboard). I don't know if I should feel stupid or not, but I actually like that idea.
-
Yup, they sure will. I have a resonated system (custom made however) with a secondary decat, and it sets car alarms off on a cold start. Not ideal when this happens at 6am when I occasionally have to leave for work Good luck!

Cheers @Furnate To answer your questions, the drop is fairly small, around 25-30mm if I had to guess. I have an exhaust bracket that needs adjusting before I can think about going any lower (which I may not do anyway) Yes, it is the HT Autos splitter, bought from Fensport.
