I don't know which lights to choose!

All personal taste - but I do like the look of those Toms ones above - all red clusters.

    Bedford trackday 29th Feb

You'll all have fun at the end of the month... Was at Bedford Autodrome today, VERY cold, icy entrance road on arrival, but sunny and dry. The only GT86 there...sad times... but a good mix of cars. Another well run event by Javelin - they did black flag me once (the no drifting policy...) but accepted that I was genuinely trying to keep it tidy.... nothing deliberate (I blame the worn Primacys). I was worried that on the 3.8 mile GT circuit the car would feel under powered - but not at all - could make excellent progress but still enjoy the balance of the car (such an enjoyable chassis to balance as it tries to let go a lot - again maybe the primacys & cold track temp). So cold that my tyres are set to 35psi (always show 35 on a warm day - stationary / not been driven / in the garage) were down at 32 (due to weather) but back up to 37 (& higher) after a few laps. Surprising how much quicker the GT lapped compared to much nicer / more dedicated machinery, really is a good car, don't know how these get slated. Tyres and brakes seemed just about take 4 - laps before noticeably going off. The idea was to give Cath some time as a passenger on track (having missed the opportunity at the Sprints last season). (Speaking of which they said the 2016 TSS dates will be released soon - and will include Anglesey!). I guess the only negative is that Bedford is still quite a "rough" surface and seems to give the tyres a harder time than other circuits (maybe because it's a "corporate entertainment venue" as such). But smiles all round - top day: [url=http://postimg.org/image/9hhq7q9up/full/] [url=http://postimg.org/image/3kig4ni3l/full/] [url=http://postimage.org/] [url=http://postimage.org/] [url=http://postimg.org/image/x7dbo6s1n/full/] [url=http://postimg.org/image/4pmujph1x/full/]

    Clean cars thread

Had a break from eating everything in sight and gave the GT a clean - also a chance to use my new hose (I know I must've been good for Santa right?). Body (AG EGP) and wheels (Poorboys) are well sealed so it comes up well with a clean and a wipe over with AF finale:

    Mustang Finally arrived!!!

Hi Stu - Nice to have an update on the Mustang - looking good. The GT 86 (still T9 FMR at present) is going well, had a couple of bits done under warranty (door seals and panel by bonnet catch) at local dealer - all hassle free. I love the car - it enjoys a mixture of being cosseted and being really enjoyed! (Like the Cadwell and Blyton sprint rounds): Friend who owns Amber just got his Mustang - hope to see it as I'm back at my folks for a few days over the break: Look forward to the updates on yours.

    New Top Gear Line up

I think Harris is superb, top wheel man as well as being able to convey his thoughts on a car. He just seems to be on the money - like his review of the GT86. Always comes across like he has a genuine interest to, after owning lots and lots of nice metal. From GT2 / RS 4.0 (how can anyone watch that winter hibernation video & not immediately want to grab their keys & head to Wales) to older M5 / 2CV etc.. looking forward to it....

    TSS CADWELL

Nice photos Kev - I enjoyed doing a couple of rounds this year and really appreciated the advice from the more experienced. (Track advice and spectator advice for the other half from Deb!). Hope to do some more next year, must order these proper photos too - what a cracking wet day:
  14. Fantastic photos thanks for posting - those lodges look cool! Would like to return there for a full track day including the mountain.
  15. Hi all - Standard rear box including the tail pipes etc. Removed from my GT86 by Toyota dealer (RRGs) when the TRD rear box was added. Had about 12,000 miles on. £90 ono. Presume it's identical BRZ / GT86 - as its stamped Subaru, but please check if it's for a BRZ. Collection from Cambridgeshire (Godmanchester) preferred. Cheers Andy.
  16. Hi all - just a quick post to say hello. Collected my GT86 from Stu (Bumblebee) on Thursday. Top man - he had clearly looked after the car and was a pleasure to deal with. I'm based Cambridgeshire (around 10 miles from fennsport) so took a nice run back through the Peak District - stopping for a picnic at Dovedale (least I could do as the girlfriend had drove my daily back for me). Journey back: Car is a White / Manual / with 13.5 k miles. Has the satnav / leather bolsters and heated seats. Surprised how well spec'd these are as standard - with the keyless go / dual zone climate / cruise etc... Previous cars include Integra Type R (DC2) which the GT reminds me off / albeit rwd. Had a few Porsches over the years - most recently a 911 (996) Twin Turbo manual coupe that I sold a couple of weeks back (in order to free up some cash and find a GT). Sad to see it go, epic car and had always wanted one (fairly long running report on Boxa.net forum for those interested - showing the work I undertook on it). Huge power / torque and performance difference to the GT obviously (420bhp / 410 lb/ft). But I love the way the GT feels / drives / taught / direct and accurate - and hilariously fun chassis characteristic of letting go at such low speeds. Out with the old: Back to the GT - has been looked after by RRG Macclesfield - freshly serviced (oil on the dip looks like new) spoke to Richard (RiceBurner) there yesterday and he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. During its life RRG have added an Injen ram air kit and the TRD quad exhaust and rear diffuser. Undecided about the airbox / may swap the standard one in to see how it compares: Currently giving it a wash / detail / but rain keeps stopping play! All done (testament to previous owner - lovely coating of wax or sealant was on there). Very happy with the car and look forward to the help / advice / banter .. Cheers for now Andy

    Paintless Dent Repair Experiences

Sounds within travelling distance - I'd highly reccomend him, by all means mention the recommendation - he did my Yellow Boxster a few years back after some promo girls dented the boot lid (don't ask).

    Paintless Dent Repair Experiences

Sorry to hear that - whereabouts are you? I think these are all about personal recommendations - I had one recommended to me a few years back- covers the Peterborough / Cambridgeshire area and he was amazing. I had several dents in a boot lid a few cars back- he was very good - ultra fussy - picked up imperfections I couldn't see (& I am OCD / pain in the neck etc). I'm sure if you google him it'll give you some results: Martyn Casson Dent Devils. Of course / it's area dependant.
  19. I'd be up for this - but as long as its the D-Max (modern two stroke) karts, went a few weeks ago and it was superb.

For Sale - Injen Air Filter System

** Now sold - thank you for looking **
  22. Hi all, I was looking for a standard car when I found stu (bumblebees) one on the forum. I have therefore reverted back to the standard air box set up (as he had kept all the original parts). Simple 30 minute job. So my Injen air filter system is up for sale. Complete Injen air filter system - in its original box along with all parts / fixings and the fitting instructions (as it would come when new). This was supplied by Fennsport and fitted to the car by respected Toyota dealer RRG Macclesfield around 6000 miles ago. Looking for £190 - cash on collection preferred (avoid any possible courier damage etc) from Cambridgeshire PE29 postcode. Please PM me if interested. Much appreciated Andy On my car: Now in the box:

    Gear Knob

Hi - thanks for the replies - definitely not a "normal" buzz / rattle / vibration (or if it is the build quality is dire). If it continues I'll get a video clip. It is a 2012 car so maybe it does suffer from a older mechanism that had some issues? I'll ask RRG for some advice as suggested. The gear knob itself also appears to be a fun design - where as you screw it down tight it pushes the plastic lugs together that retain the top / which forces the top off... new knob under warranty sounds like a winner. Thanks again

    Gear Knob

Hi all - I have the same issue as above - gear knob slightly loose (slightly moves around during use) - tighten one revolution - which cures it - and the top lifts ... Worse is that there is a really annoying resonance / vibration / noise from the gear knob - under load / when you rev it out around 6 to the red line it rattles / buzzes. In neutral you can replicate it - starts around 3.5 - 4k - tried pulling / pushing leaning it etc - all of which do alter the noise / but doesn't cure it. I unscrewed the gear knob completely and the noise is still there. So the gear selector shaft from the gaitor is loose? Or loose vibrating sufficiently to make the noise ... something isn't right somewhere. Anyone had this and is there a common fix? Really spoils the driving experience - as the rest is spot on. (I did try the search function but had no joy).
