Cosworth Supercharger Kit - SOLD
thetyrant replied to thetyrant's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Twin charging while a nice idea is a whole lot of money and effort thats not really needed for most, to make it work right takes a lot of time and very deep pockets as many have found out and that car on above link didnt work out so well i believe. This cosworth charger made approx 280hp/210ftbs when it had freeflow manifold and exhaust system which i thought that was plenty for amount of grip these cars have without spoiling the excellent chassis balance ....currently its running around 250hp due to me moving back to stock exhaust for noise reasons and its still motors on nicely, sure it would be nice to fit the smaller stage3 pulley and shoot for 350hp but that really needs a built engine for safety and some better tyres to cope, but im sure that would be immense! Hell yeah do it would be immense -
Yes i beleive they only list the 14mm for GT86/BRZ but i know that there is a 16mm version not listed for 86 but it can be fitted as well so was just checking which these were, if they were fitted in lower hole they are 14mm version
-
They do both 14mm for lower and 16mm for top hole hence the question
-
Depends what you want as in grip or slidy fun, the V105 is a budget tyre with decent performance and ive run them on a couple of cars now, Michelins are a premium tyre so offer better grip everywhere but you pay the extra for it, ive found the V105 is a decent allrounder for the money and allow nice progressive slides if you so wish which adds to the fun, however if grip is what you want then as other have said PS4 is far superior tyre, be aware though too much grip can make a car boring after awhile
-
Are these the 14mm or 16mm version ?.... as in for upper or lower hole fitment Ian
-
Shame to see your selling after such a journey to get it all sorted, as above is that 16k the price ? if so a bargain and temped to buy it and swap engine GLWTS

If built and looked after properley its more likely to be reliable on a daily/high mileage car than one that does low but lots of hard/track miles, only thing to watch for is cooling down a turbo before switching off engine if you have had spirited run out, this just means sitting with it idling for a minute or two before switching off car if its just been used hard to allow turbo to cool and stop it cooking the oil, otherwise no issues and likewise no issue like that with a supercharger, although i tend to anyhows due to years of turbo cars and with my current cosworth charged 86 i try and do last few miles before getting to my destination very sedate to let all temps cool and then i can just switch it off. Im doing nearly 1k miles a month in my car since buying in April and had no issues, previous owner did about 5k miles in 2 years i think but lots of that was track and never had an issue, a well built and well setup/mapped charged car should give no issues if treated/serviced accordingly. The issue with rose joints on the road is lack of protection from the elements and road grime etc, it soon gets into the bearings and they then wear very fast, if they are titanium (which it doesnt look like to me, maybe the fixing they are screwed into?) then it wont make much difference imo, in a highly exposed area like this and with no protection it wont last long, very nice while they are in good order though and should feel crisp if all other bushes are done as well.
-
They are very nice looking arms! :).... however best get a box of replacment rosejoints ready as they dont generally last long on the Uk roads ..., hopefully these ones fair better though. Ian

SOLD SOLD SOLD Ok im removing my Tein coilovers to replace with Ohlins so this also means my amazing Tein EDFC Active Pro kit is coming off for sale also, rare chance for someone to snap up one of these amazing kits 2nd hand but in perfect working order to enable them to get most out of their Tein Coilovers For those who don't know the details these EDFC Active Pro units are very clever allowing you to either manually adjust all 4 dampers individually in the car including setup up presets to quickly change between your road/track/crusing setups etc, or use the impressive Active/GPS settings to automatically stiffen and soften the car as you drive it in full Active mode using G force and Speed sensors, more details can be found on Tein page below LINK - http://www.tein.co.uk/product/edfc_active_pro.html This kit is not to be confused with the cheaper and more basic EDFC2 and EDFC Active as this is the full monty EDFC Active PRO with its extra features as well as the addon GPS module and strut stops. Its the complete kit containing everything you need including the EDFC Active pro Incar controller unit and damper controllers, 4 dampers servo motors and all wiring with original boxes and manuals etc, also the additional strut stop kit to stop over rotation of motors and the nifty GPS addon so you can use the speed sensitive functions. These kits can be fitted to pretty much all the TEIN coilover kits but if you let me know your kit I can double check its compatible, below are part numbers with current RRP from Tein EDFC active Pro controller kit - EDK04-Q0349 @ £565 EDFC 4 Motor Kit - EDK05-12140 @ £126 EDFC GPS kit -EDK07-P8022 @ £60 EDFC Strut stop kit- EDK06-K4474 @ £30 Makes a total to buy this new of £780+shipping! SOLD - Price wise I would like £400 or near offer for the lot and that includes UK delivery, overseas delivery possible at extra cost just get in touch, all in all an amazing saving on new to enable you to get the most out of your Tein suspension, you can also collect from me in Penrith Cumbria if you prefer just get in touch. Edit- Ok the Kit is now fully and carefully removed from the car, surprised at how simple it was with just a few power connections for controller units then cable to each motor, the controllers all talk to each other wirelessly so not loads of cables running all over car which is good!. Pictures below showing all parts after removal and a screen shot of Teins page showing the parts etc, if you need anymore info just get in touch, also if you have Tein coilovers and don't have this you need to get in touch also Drop me a pm if interested Cheers Ian
-
Still have this, don't make me put it on ebay! make me a sensible offer and your Tein suspension could be complete
-
Just to bump this back up, ive been looking at various options to replace the Tein on my car and these keep coming up, im most likely going Ohlins but for the money these sound ideal for road use, to the OP i dropped you a PM to pick your brains a bit more

I would like to get a ride in a Flex A car as well if oppurtnity arrises to feel difference myself, however im pretty sure i will go Ohlins and tinker with spring rates if i feel the need but curious as to other setups as well.
-
I see so how weird that nobody wants to comment on Meisters, i guess silence tells the story but it doesnt help people looking who may buy them and then have issues. I dont find the StreetFlex that bad really and certainly not as bad as your experience, track and smooth to medium bumpy roads and they are fine once you get damping dialled in, its only on the really bad B'roads around me where i feel they struggle to get things smoothed out, much like most cheaper end dampers where the valving just isnt as advanced as more expensive setups, it would be interesting to try a Flex A car at some point for comparison though.
-
So have you tried the Meisters and returned them as well?....intriguing What you say is main thing you found different between the StreetFlex and Flex A ? Ian
-
Hmm must of been bad if you cant even comment
-
@Deacon I saw on your post of FT86 that you have had both the GT1 and ZetaR MeisterR kits and interested in how you found them ?.... the Zeta kits don't interest me as just another far east generic damper but the GT1 kit Jerrick always bangs on about how amazing it is and rival for Ohlins etc, but ive never seen a proper test so wondered what you thought of yours ? Ian
-
Yes its a concern as road use is my main usage, I am intrigued by the Flex A but wonder how much different to my StreetFlex they will be, I know they have the fancy bumpstop but I would rather a kit that doesn't need it to be honest, would be good to see damper dyno of the two to see if base damping is any different but ive not seen any.
-
I had seen that about springs and looking on Tein UK site they have kit rrp at £2500 including vat and I know from buying some springs a few weeks ago for my Streetflex they were £75 per pair so not bad really, just a shame there is nobody ive seen here in UK running them on road to give feedback on an 86. I have a customer runs them on an Evo6 trackcar and says they are amazing on circuit but way to harsh on road with springs he has fitted, so not really comparable anyhows.
-
Yes looking on the BRZ spec sheet the SRC will lower minimum of 20mm front and 12.5mm rear, i think ive seen them around £2.5k so not terrible but not cheap although for a 2way setup it isnt bad at all, also ive been in touch with my Ohlins contact also to see what is going on with their kits and strange spring rates etc so interested to see what he says.
-
Yes i guess although ive read they can be dialled in to be very compliant being 2ways etc, also -40mm is base drop on them but you have can wind them up -20mm same as most others so ride height isnt a real issue, cost is though as they are pricey little buggers!
