I've requested a Primo one as my current one has no holes in. It comes unpainted anyway apparently so dont see why it should be drilled.

Had the full assessment and estimate through and given the go ahead to start work, vehicle is being transferred to the body shop and assuming there's no further hidden damage, I should have it back in 4-6 weeks. I'm targeting a return to form for Simply Japanese on 30th July. Not planning any upgrades as the costs of a carbon bootlid etc outweighs the OEM replacement + paint. Bill is slightly less than first thought and Rich said he'd try to keep the costs down where possible, still a hefty whack though but at least when I get it back I'll be sure it's back to full health.
-
Update from Rich @ RRG, it's repairable. Bad news, the bill. Won't be getting that turbo any time soon.
-
Tomorrow lunchtime I should have the verdict.
-
No worries guys, just keep kicking the man while he's down.
-
Yeah I'm keeping my eyes open, once I know the score on Friday I will start calling around to see what I can get hold of. I still have my original rear lights and exhaust, I'm more worried around the rear quarter panel and any structural damage. At this point thinking about all the "what ifs" are making me feel a bit ill so I'm trying to wait until I have all the facts before I start pulling threads.

I could have insured it for £150. Looking back with 20/20 hindsight it's a no brainer. @Nicebiscuit I hope to God you're right. The car's at RRG now so hopefully I'll know the score by Friday. "Not good" was Rich's initial assessment.
-
@Bfranklyn86 Yeah.....not so much.
-
As I stated above, track insurance people!
-
I'm hoping not. It's already cost me ~£500 in recovery, storage and transport fees just to get it to RRG.
-
@Ade Basically, the track was drying off, Will had stiffened my suspension a bit, I had all the aids off, was braking later and later and later for Wigglers, pretty sure this time I broke too late, made the left ok then on the right the back end just let go, car swung 180 degrees and my ass was in the barrier before I knew much about it.
-
Time for an update, the most recent modification to the car was totally unplanned Car is being collected tomorrow and taken to RRG Macclesfield for assessment. Great advertisement for trackday insurance everyone!

Wheels look good mate.

Love the mods so far, I'd also recommend looking at the Invidia Q300 for a catback if noise supression is what you're after but with a nicer tone. Can I ask how you're finding the clutch?

OK, what I said was: "There must be an extremely limited market for people who want coilovers but to keep stock height." I stand by that comment. Lowering is probably the main selling point of coilovers. What you consider important on your own car is your business. However, looking at the other cars in the club at events like Japfest the vast majority of owners seem to think that lowering the car is the best option.
-
There must be an extremely limited market for people who want coilovers but to keep stock height. The car at stock height looks bloody ridiculous IMHO.
-
The general consensus on this forum is to buy Flex A's. A lot of people have them with nothing negative to say.
-
Also if I ever get a respray it's that colour.
-
Got the specs yet Rich?
-
It won't negatively effect the handling, in fact making the car lower can make it feel more planted and responsive. Generally speaking unless your budget is extremely tight springs are not the best way of doing things, for reasonable money you can buy a set of coilovers which will improve the overall ride, handling and give you more flexibility in terms of damping, ride height etc. In terms of how low to go, you could drop that down 20mm and it would probably look perfect.

Hi Tony, If you look at the thread knightryder posted, you will see that the club is going again this year, there are currently a dozen of us attending. I cannot imagine there will be any issues with you coming along as well. If you post in that thread saying you're coming, then buy the tickets, Rob will add you to the club list. Paul

Would you be prepared to take £65 for the black fender garnishes?
