The way I drive I'm lucky to get to 150 miles....
-
Spent far too much money on my car this Xmas: Perrin Cold air intake, Perrin Induction hose, Perrin Front strut brace, Rota Grid alloys, Tein Flex Z coilovers and full Abbey Motorsport fitting, Rear Valenti tail lights and a few other bits. In terms of family presents I got some Blu Rays I was after, some more Cards against Humanity expansions, plenty of chocolate and some Star Wars merch (movie is sooooo good!).

Santa was a bit late but my new Valenti Tail lights arrived today, managed to get off work early to as soon as I got home out came the tool kit. Started by disconnecting the battery (first time I've ever done this in a car): Decided to follow a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jrFASjxwWQ) so removed the plastic cover for the rear bootlid socket: Had a bit of difficulty removing the plastic bolt covers but that was probably me being nervous and not wanting to break anything: Time for a ratchet spanner: All the nuts off so out comes the old OEM light (bit dirty underneath): Out with the old, in with the new: And simply reversed the process to fit the new light: At this point the rain started coming down so I decided to rotate the car around so the rearend was under my front porch and I could fit the second light. Chucked all my tools and stuff in the boot and closed it and.....oh, the battery's disconnected. Bugger. Cue scrambling through the back of the car in the pouring rain to pull down the seats to grab my socket set to reconnect the battery and actually move the car.... A fair amount of time (and one slightly irritated wife later) the second light was fitted: Absolutely over the moon with how they look, the clear white LED strip against the white paint is exactly the look I was after: Got the bumper light left to fit tomorrow when daylight re-appears which is apparently a bit more involved, so will take some more pics as I go.

I miss having the 3 blinkers I have on my wife's BMW. Keep forgetting.

Another little one arrived at work while I was on holiday over Xmas so did a quick lunchtime install:

Ok, so the difference between this set and these: http://www.86worx.com/crystaleye-projector-headlights-v2.html Is that on these (LED bar) ones the turn signal is a progressive flow, whereas on the ones I've linked the turn signal is just a normal blinker? -
It's good quality and looks the part. Bit tricky to install with a single person IMHO. For my arms it means I can relax totally with my elbow comfortable on the leather padding. It also makes the cabin look a bit neater and more expensive. Pretty happy with it.

I live in Hanworth (South Bracknell), I'll keep an eye out.

Ouch smudge. Had to put all my exhaust plans on hold until later next year as the suspension stuff is costing more than thought (can't even afford the Rotas I fancied). If you still haven't sold it in 6 months I'll take it off you.
-
James @ Amber just hooked me up with one of these, great service as always.

^ what smudge said.

Easy to fit? My car's going down 30mm so this may be a wise move...

I'm laughing but don't know if I should be!

PLEASE HELP: Feedback needed for new online quote for Prestige KM Insurance

Same as above, sorry! -
How tall is Faith? I'm pretty short at 5 8. Get teased about it by my wife's family all the time as they're built like beanpoles!

Got my insurance sorted (thanks to Natalie at Adrian Flux) so numerous modifications are now winging their way to me. Now if only the finance paperwork would turn up so I could get hold of the bloody car!!!
-
So much better, cheers Rob.

PLEASE HELP: Feedback needed for new online quote for Prestige KM Insurance

Pretty easy to use but a few bits of feedback: Don't know if there's much point asking the drive how much no claims they have for every vehicle they access, I've only ever known of people earning NCB on a single vehicle at a time Maximum of 5 mods? Depends what you're classifying as a mod, for example discs, pads and callipers count as 3 components or just 1(brakes)? Don't think 5 would get you far on this forum! -

Utter bargain, 4 years NCB, all future mods declared, fully comp, £502 with £250 excess. My current insurer wanted £1400 without the mods!!!! -
Thanks everyone for the comments! I bought a used pearl white, 13 plate with 24k on the clocks. First things first are to get my insurance sorted out, but I already have a TRD ducktail spoiler and Toyota armrest in my spare bedroom, some Valenti rear lights on order and as soon as I can get a straight answer from my insurer I plan to get some Rota Grid 18s with some Tein Flex Z coilovers. By March I'll hopefully have some bits under the bonnet (keeping it NA for the foreseeable future) and a new exhaust and a remap sorted. This is the last toy I'm allowed before my wife starts pestering me for kids so I'm determined to enjoy it! As I've been loitering around here for so long it will be nice to get out and about and start meeting people from the forum, I've already put my name down for Rockingham in August. *Should have mentioned I won't be picking it up until Xmas week, be a nice early present to myself!
