I've probably been a bit lazy starting a new topic rather than trying to find an old one, but I'd appreciate some tire help. In the last month the car has been sliding about too much - at speeds I would not expect any other car to slide at. Whilst this may have been what the tire choice was designed for, I don't find it fun and it actually takes away a lot of my confidence in the car. I only have stock wheels, so tire options need to be limited to the stock size. So my question is, what brand and spec tires should I be looking for that I can put on my stock wheels that will give me maximum grip and I can get back some confidence in the car?

Ze German invasion part 2.

Bit of a cheat, just wiped down the car with a wet cloth and then dried it with another. Took 20 minutes but the result is excellent, just like it has been cleaned. Dodge is also clean and photo bombed.

My 156 was written off in April 2013 (a neighbor crashed into the side of me whilst I was pretty much stationary) and almost 5 years later I still get calls, basically asking for me to try and claim for some imaginary injury. No wonder insurance keeps going up with these idiots trying to scam it. I'm registered with the TPS but unfortunately the call is usually made using some internet phone service so unless you spend some time talking to them, getting a real number or address isn't going to be possible.

I don't like these sort of warranties as normally they aren't clear on exactly what isn't covered. Like all insurance, they are created to favour the house, not the gambler.

I also have a BRZ from new. I tried Carwow but at the time I was looking, they didn't cover the BRZ. So instead I used it for the GT86 to get an idea of the discount I could use at Subaru and also to use as a bargaining chip if they said no. I decided on the spec I wanted (BRZ SE Lux in WRC blue, side fins, mats and parking sensor) and just told the dealer what I wanted to pay. I think the total for what I wanted was about £26-£27k so I told the dealer I would pay £23k. He called me back after 10 mins accepting my offer. Didn't need to use my offers from Carwow in the end.

My BRZ has never returned less than 30. Record is 47, average over last year was 38. This is all at the pump, not the slightly inaccurate computer.

Cruel. A roof rack would give a better view and also give fresher air.

Subaru BRZ 2.0i SE LUX, Pearlescent WR BLUE PEARL , Nov 2015
Willtl posted a topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
Registered November 2015, the car is just over 2 years old. The car has a full Subaru service history and has covered just over 12,000 miles from new with me being the only owner from new. The car was kept under 4,000 revs for the first 1,000 miles and has the balance of Manufacturers 5 year/100,000 mile Warranty and Balance of the 3 year break down service. The car has always been garaged over night and has never been tracked. The bodywork and wheels are scratch free and immaculate, the car could easily pass as brand new. This is the model that comes with Leather/Alcantara heated seats. The car is modification free other than a re-map from Fensport. In addition to the LUX spec, the car has a touch screen Pioneer Sat Nav, (includes DAB+ and Bluetooth), Rear parking sensors, Side fin blades, BRZ interior mats and tinted rear windscreen. I am based in Grays (Essex, near Lakeside) and looking for £17,000. -

Stock wheels and tyres, 35psi. 386 mile round trip left a quarter of the tank and trip computer reported this.

Dealers are happy to deal with warranty work as long as the manufacturer is footing the bill.

If the gunk is the glue like with the car name at the back, I always use petrol (and then give it a good wash after). Are the front and boot badges only glued in place?

Why does it become cheaper? Are they taking the oil and filter off of the new cars they service and using that for the older cars?
-
I think it was the one near Southend (Rayleigh)?

Is the GT86 service book electronic like the BRZs and if so, can a non Toyota dealership update it? I e-mailed my local Toyota dealership to see if they could service the BRZ but they never replied.

I'm probably going to change my tyres before the winter comes and am half thinking about changing the wheels at the same time (although I have no specific wheels in mind). My question is, what size wheels can be put on the car without changing anything or do I need to stick to 215/45R17? I don't particularly want larger wheels but would like something a bit wider.

I might have seen you at about 7.20am, are you ML63?
-
hah. I'll keep my eyes out. I only use the BRZ at the weekend (normally for trips to retail park or shopping) or when I drive to the office (work from home). The rest of the time it is in the garage and I use the Dodge Journey.
-
Thurrock! Any more specifics, I'm in Grays.

I had already planned this out. I have a Dodge Journey to do the heavy lifting. Just out of interest, are there any particular wheel brands I should be looking at and likewise, any I should steer clear of?
-
Thanks for the advice (and also from other people who have commented). I'm a bit concerned on how I'd get the wheels tyred and onto the car. Do most people just order the wheels and take them down to your preferred tyre shop and ask them to fit the tyres and wheels?

Which is just as well given what else is available. I had a Wii U from launch and probably bought 5 or 6 games for it (I've since given it to my son who has taken it to Uni). I might get a Switch somewhere down the line, but I want to see if it can attract more than just Nintendo games. At the moment, it has limited appeal outside of Zelda (which I've never enjoyed) and feels like people are buying the other games simply through lack of choice as they aren't titles you'd bother to buy on other formats.
