The finished article.

Has anyone had their rear window tinted? If so, did you have it or the brake light removed first?
-
All done, without removing the rear windscreen or the brake light. Not sure whether to add a photo here or the clean car thread.

Subaru audio makes the dodgy Toyota unit look good. Worth it for that blue though. And the BRZ is so much rarer. Enjoy (you will) Are you joking? The Subaru basic unit is very poor. I thought the Toyota one has an LCD screen and Bluetooth?
-
The audio unit is cack, how they can get away without Bluetooth these days is ridiculous. Even if you choose the upgraded model still no DAB. I opted to leave the cack one in and replaced it with a Pioneer that has satnav, Bluetooth and DAB for £700 including fitting.

Found another place to do this for me, not as local but won't remove the windscreen. Also only £130 instead of £180 so taking the car in next week.
-
Nah, it's really good, thanks for posting that. The un-tinted front window doesn't seem to stand out too much.
-
How much is "very expensive"? I've been quoted £180 (includes VAT)

Thanks for posting the pic of your car, the difference between the front windows and the postage stamp rear passenger windows doesn't look too bad. Did you find that by tinting the rear windscreen the inside of the car became darker therefore making the front passenger windows also look darker? The place near to where I live that does the tinting said they will probably want to remove the rear windscreen as otherwise there is too little room to work in the back, although they did say they might try to do it without removing it. I guess my concerns are how the car will look when finished (they advised me not to remove the tint when done as there is a risk of pulling of the heater elements from the glass) and if there are any complications that arise from them removing the rear windscreen (leaking, heating element not working). They are a vehicle windscreen company though and they said they will take responsibility for any problems. Decisions, decisions.....

Pretty damn dark. I had a Ford Capri about 25 years ago where I had all windows tinted (apart form the front windscreen).
-
I know this, but apparently the front passenger windows already have a slight tint of around 70%. It doesn't look like it, but compare the passenger glass to a normal sheet of glass. I was thinking of a 20% tint for the rear which will look quite different to the front passenger windows so wanted to see a picture of how this looks on a BRZ (or GT86). Been scanning the internet for pictures but most pics I've found were either from outside the UK or illegal UK tints.
-
Do you have a picture of your car with the tinted windows? I'm in two minds whether to get mine done as legally you can only tint the rear passenger and rear windscreen and I'm not sure how that will look with the front windows remaining un-tinted as they were from the factory.

Brake light or window?

I've had my BRZ just coming up to 6 months and although I've tried various seating positions, lumbar support and cushions, feel my back just isn't suited to the car. This gives me the option of either getting rid of the car or putting up with it. I'm considering options and know that the longer I leave the decision to sell the car, the less I will get for it in any eventual sale so I'm just looking for an idea on how much I can get for it. It is the SE LUX MY2015, first registered November 2015. It has the optional extras of Rear Parking Sensors, BRZ mats and side fin blades. I've also had an after market Pioneer system fitted that provides Sat Nav, DAB+, DVD, Bluetooth and USB etc. The car has done between 3.5 - 4k. Any ideas on what I could fairly expect from a private sale?
-
I had thought about changing the seats, but not given it any serious consideration. The problem I have with changing the seats is that I'd then end up with something that is mismatched from the rear, and also be a bit miffed that I'd ended up paying for Alcantara seats that ended up being scrapped. I'm also worried that for some odd reason the new seats don't work out and even if they did, when the time comes to sell, would anyone else want the car? Just out of interest though, can you advise of places that would offer the service of seat replacement and potential costs?

My wife always tells me off for using sellotape for stuff. Have you tried sellotape? Drive some of the TVRs and then come back about bonnet lift.

I will be interested in how you get on with this. I had a look on Amazon and after reading the first reviews was just about ready to order. Then I thought I'd check the one star reviews which kind of put me off....

Just checked my car, Subaru are clearly still using the lower powered battery. Not experienced any problems here but car is garaged and used a couple of times per week.
-
Yes, I miss these. Have to wonder though whether they will come to the UK models, particularly the BRZ. The head unit in the BRZ is utter crap and I assume once changed, the steering controls can't be configured for any replacement system.
-
I prefer mine on the inside.
-
Agreed. Unless you are part of the BRZ master race, in which case clearly you need to be blue.

I think this is really a "gaming setup" topic rather than "office". I have an office laptop and 21" screen (provided by my company), but my own PC equipment consists of a Dell Server (can't remember the model but got it cheap at the end of 2015, bought a 120GB SSD and internal DVD drive to compliment the 500GB drive that came with it and installed Windows 10 to use as my "home" PC). I also have an Acer Aspire P3 which is basically an i5 PC shoved into a tablet (which was kind of an impulse buy as I rarely use it). I don't really play games on my PCs. For gaming I have a PS4 and a Wii U. The Wii U hasn't probably been turned on for 2 months but I tend to play an hour or so on the PS4 each day.
-
Possibly a stupid question, but is the unit you are using iPhone compatible?
-
Washed and polished the BRZ earlier, see my previous post for how it looks clean, couldn't be bothered to photo it again. Next week the Dodge's turn (if I can be bothered).

Unexpected things you like about the GT86

Now you just need a trailer for passengers.
