Discount for October - NA Tuning Package
bassett replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Hi, can you help with a few quick questions, is the deal any cheaper if you already have an ecutek licence and the car has been mapped previously all be it else where? Is the second cat as effective as the primary cat and will it still pass a regular mot? Thanks Adam -

Thanks guys yes i found out it is a 1632 and opening up the key fob is amazingly easy once I found the right video online. Top tip on getting spares as I'm sure my second fob will follow shortly. I still need to find a battery but for anyone wondering on how to remove the battery. Press in the bottom on the side of the fob to release the manual key from the fob. Pull out the manual key. WIth the tip of the manual key insert it into the recess in the fob and twist to split the fob in half. You then have to release the circuit board gently to uncover batter on the other side.

Hi, ive got a 2015 gt86 with the keyless entry and one of the fobs seems to have died. Ive looked through the manual which suggests a cr2016, can anyone confirm this is corrrect as the fob looks very different. How long does everyone else find these fob batteries last. Ive had it 4 years but only use it around once a week so didnt think it would go that quick but as the car battery needed replacing after 1 year i shouldnt be suprised i guess :) Cheers

Last year I think people started leaving at mid day as there was a full on monsoon!

Try contacting cobra or the likes and see if they can make the pipes that go to the tips work with the standard exhaust tips as it all comes in sections from the rear back box. Shouldn't be difficult if not could be done custom at an exhaust fitting place

If you end up with spare space let me know on here and I will join from the single make parking.

Doh left this one a little late for actual booking as the club display is closed now so I will see if I can contact someone tomorrow. If not I'll enter the one make parking display and try to sneak over

Great to hear SCBRZ resolved this, definitely worth saving as a sticky thread as it's not as simple or as cheap as it should be.

I entered this and had a cracking day out with the GT86. The Toyota GB team put on good show bringing along their hospitality centre, some new demonstrators as well as a few added bonuses. To kick the day off there was sign on, scrutineering and the compulsory Pom luggage check. Luckily the seats fold down flat on the 86 which passed with ease but the MR2 boys struggled. Next up there were 3 competitive timed tests, a slalom, acceleration and braking test and finally a auto test. The cars entering included pretty much one or more of every model and year Toyota I can think of including Corolla, yaris, MR2, supra, celica and obviously my 86, an aero and even a Prius or 3! It was good fun and nice to do something competitive in the car with zero risks. Just before lunch all the competitors got the chance to drive 3 parade laps of the GP circuit which was great fun and an unexpected bonus to the day. Ive never had a huge appreciation for Silverstone but it is massive and very impressive in person. Whilst the Toyota event was going on the main Pomeroy Trophy was underway with some amazing machines pounding round the track from pre war classics to a howling Chevron race car and rally spec mk2 escort with gearing so low it was bouncing off the limiter on the straights. Afternoon session had the same 3 events as the morning giving a chance to push a little harder. All competitors were given a Gazoo Racing wolly hat and Vintage sports car club engraved tankard trophies, it's the taking part that counts 😛 if Toyota put on the same event next year I'd thoroughly recommend it, I might even enter the main Pomeroy Trophy for the different elements and the added seat time round Silverstone.

Carlimits (2019) - 4 person day @ North Weald Airfield
bassett replied to VAD17's topic in Social Meets
Interested, would anyone who's done it before mind breaking down the day, is it repeating several corners or also as a circuit to put some laps in? -
I like bits of it but as a whole it doesn't seem cohesive at all. Ride height looks silly and i really dont get the stuck on door side pod bits when its not rear/mid engine. The interior is very BMW which i dont think is a bad thing for a japanese car. Hopefully it survives long enough for a half decent face lift particularly that front end

Sounds like a cool event, any idea what's involved for competitors as looking at the entry fee for the classics the Toyota entry is much less so wondering if it's a smaller list of events?

Been a couple of times but parked in single make parking so I'd be up for this
