Note to self don't drag a wife and young baby along to a car event leaving at 7am in the morning during a monsoon. Best to say it didn't end well and I'll be paying for this for a while. Surprisingly good turn out given the weather. Not many show stopper cars but those carbon GTRs were interesting anyone know if they are full carbon replacement panels? Big fan of Toyotas race inspired cars, I'd love to do something similar and take it to the le mans 24 hours.

I will try to meet you at the pub but please don't wait for me if im late, I might be delayed as I'm bringing my young daughter along with me

Tickets booked and printed

I swapped mine over to my new wheels and have been fine the last year. The valve contains the sensor and its a big lump so certain wheels depending on design might not be suitable with tpms but i guess that not many have had to deal with this issue aa its still relatively new. Also means the tyre shop might charge you more to take the old sensors off the old wheels to put them on the new ones. I might be wrong but having a tpms fault could be an mot failure

Still need to book tickets but I'll be there

Had a similar experience with my other car last month. Just to check did you leave the car with them so it could have been turned off and not hot when tested or was it tested while you wait straight away as you turned up? When my other car failed a half tank run through with injector cleaner, oil and filter change and an engine that had been running 30-45 minutes and it sailed through with barely any emissions second time round.

Would love to wrap mine and take it down to le mans. Cars look great but still cant escape the ridiculous silhouette of a prototype race car. Anyone watching the coverage over the next couple of days?

A ramp would be nice but i find most my cars are too low to use them on so always used axle stands. Jacking up the rear is simple as from memory you can place it under the diff. Have some exhaust assembly paste ready as most have a slip on joint between the two sections. If it's an older car plus gas will help free up stubborn bolts

Goodwood Breakfast Club - Supercar Sunday, June 3, 2018

I'll be there in my MNR kit car and my mate in his M3. Just hoping with the new parking layout we can actually get to the track at a reasonable time. -
Interesting issue I've also considered this early on. Just to check are these pesky Porsches cars of friends you're going on the trip with or just other drivers out on the road? And have you done the road trips since you had the TD package fitted? I can imagine going with friends I would want a similar level of power but if not I wouldn't change anything. I can't even remember coming across another driver going for it in an enthusiasts car just slow super car drivers parked on the hair pins, luckily they were going up the stelvio and I was coming down. For me the 86 with a primary catback and map is sufficient. I haven't done the alps since it was stock but have done a tour of wales and it was enough for me but then altitude isn't as much of a problem. Whilst in wales I didn't have to worry about Porsches instead a clapped out Astra came tearing up behind and I just let him go. No point being taken out or pushing your limits if someone knows the roads better.

It sounds good but problem is it won't sound like that to you sitting in the car. Best to try and get some passenger rides as there are probably similar sounding alternatives that you can get in the uk with out expensive shipping
-
I have a remap with a primary cat back and decat already fitted and if I was to do it again I'd only do it if I was having the headers replaced as a minimum as whilst I like the gains they are small and mapping this car isnt exactly cheap with ecutek licences on top.
-
Cool see you there, hadn't decided yet what to turn up in but if there are few other members I'll try and bring the 86. What have you guys got so I know what to look out for? Mine is a blue 15 plate

Brand new or second hand? I believe most decals were optional so they would come on the car or wouldn't. Although not decals with spoiler i had to request my car came with this and physically tick a box to make sure i received this. I imagine a second hand car some owners would remove them but should be able to get them from a dealer

Ive found eibach springs offer a really good halfway house of low looks, cheap price to try and reasonably comfy so far. Stock ride is firm so on poor surface maybe a tad more jittery. I've gone for coilovers and full suspension kits in the past and made things near enough unbearable and they were H&R or KW

Good luck with the build, out of interest have you done this kind of thing before or just into it as a hobby? Completely agree with the BIFB comments, interesting to watch but his methods often leave a lot to be desired. Can see why he's having a tough time shifting his 86 and other cars.

I'd definitely fit the centre caps as I've always thought wheels look unfinished without them unless its a race car. As for carbon wrapping atleast it is reversible to give it a try but I can't help but feel carbon wrapping defeats the point of looking like carbon which is for strength and light weight where as a wrap is just for aesthetics. If it was me I'd probably like to try wrapping some interior parts for some contrast and colour or if even some real carbon. Also TRD parts for the exterior are on my shopping list including the front spoiler, ductail spoiler and sideskirts

I'd say plan it through properly as its a £200 car which is nothing in the grand scheme of things considering the hours, cost in parts and tools etc. I'd go after something you really want and special ie m3 over at 316i as an example as when doing it, it's always worth continuing with even on the bad days when the frustration of problems mounts up, plus if you sell it, it's desirable to other people even in bits. If your new to this kind of work id buy a working but run down car so you know it worked before you start and then get a model known to be simple and popular ie mx5, e36 3 series

If it helps I've got aftermarket wheels and just swapped the old sensors over to the new wheels and they worked fine

I changed mine in the summer and have been pretty happy, same dry performance yet more predictable wet/greasy/very cold weather performance. I went from 215 to 225 square setup with a similar offset but 18s so I adjusted down the psi from what I believe is a stock 35psi to 33psi

Was thinking exactly the same at the weekend with what should be a furnace 25+ on the climate control but it only moved from a a cool breeze to luke warm.
-
Interesting i find mine ridiculously light but i guess it depends on the other cars youve driven and use regularly. As its second hand could be worth an alignment check to make sure everything is point straight and check the tyre pressures are equal.

What's channel and time is this on? Tried to find it a week back but for some reason I couldn't seem to find it on sky on demand

My track car runs Team dynamics 1.2s all be it in 15s and it's had plenty of abuse and the wheels still clean up nicely

Sounds like a great trip and the car looks good. Its a similar trip to one I did a year back with the wife but with a lot less exercise
