    Steering wheel issue

Possibly rings from the previous driver dragging them across the surface.

Shame the M2 is so heavy. I looked at the new comp pack but at 1600kg it will destroy brakes and tyres all to frequently. Having followed a few they do go very well on track however if you accept the consumables.
  3. Thats encouraging to hear. Do you have any data on the Turbo on track at all?

The Evora is something to consider but is in direct competition with a 981. Wish I had that choice, need to work harder.

    2019 TRD

350z is more of a GT car and very heavy. The car is fine as is but I was more commenting on the limited edition models it would be nice if they had an 'S' version which was geared up more abit like the Megane rsr.

I had a go in a 140 and that was enough to put me off most BMW's as the steering feel and overall feel of the car feedback wise was not great. The M2 is meant to be more to my liking so I will see. I did look at the e92 but the kerb weight put me off. Anything over 1500kg is usually off limits.

If it came with an oil cooler aswell they could have marketed it as a track edition or something similar now it just seems like another special edition without the one thing people want which is abit more power from the standard car. If this had 250bhp it would sell alot better.

If only. Sadly abit out of my price range. Im currently lustig after the Evora 400 range they look awesome. However this all goes to show what a good car the GT86 is in that we struggle to find a car to change to. Im looking at an M2 Sat to test drive but I have a feeling it may not be good enough for me to part with my hard earned or part with the GT86.

Did a driving experience in a GTR, so quick but to me felt abit boring. Lack of driver input. Yep running costs look pretty high aswell.

Audi R8 has some pricey issues. Aircon unit if it fails requires the engine removing to correct it.

I was disappointed with the Supra. I was expecting something more. It does not seem exciting at this point. Hopefully reviews prove me wrong, 1500kg is a heavy car.

Id agree on the 1 series, very capable drive train and engine but steering feel is awful and yeah not a good looking car. Steering feel is a big thing for me and its basically the same in the 2 series although the car looks much better than the 1 series. Having now gone RWD I cannot see myself in a hot hatch or AWD. The GT86 has ruined alot of cars for me through its sheer driving experience. Though the A45 does seem like a capable car having read the reviews.

    Engine trouble!

Sorry to hear about your problems. I think a 2nd hand motor will be half the cost to source and to fit than Toyota. Ebay has them between 2-3k then its just labour so if you find a friendly garage you might get very lucky on fitting.

    Litchfield/Rotrex supercharger

If you like to push very hard on track for 20-30 minute stints I would stay NA.
  17. Plenty of info and a sound clip here, just to backup what @vanko25 said this exhaust is not drony, I would not have had it on my car if it was. Drove 2500 miles around Europe and never once got annoyed.

    Alucardo's 86 Road / Track

Just a quick update regarding some driving adventures on the NC500. As you can see the scenery is stunning as where the roads. Highlight of the week was the Old military road followed by single seater experience at Knockhill. The GT86 performed amazingly well and was reliable and quick. I do have a hankering for more power mainly down to safer overtakes and the ease of power on longer runs not having to ring the car by its neck which for small periods of time is great, but does wear you down when you are doing it all day. I would like to have a good go in a Porsche Cayman/Boxster S as that seems like the next option after the GT86 or look at supercharging the GT86 as I fear a Porsche with its tall gears may not be as fun on the track. Both options I am currently exploring. The long and short of it if you get chance to drive the NC500 or variation of it you should.

    Turbo / Supercharger / NA

I have been pondering for the past few months of up'ing the power on my 86 and probably more than likely turbo'ing. However having watched lots of track videos and comparative runs against other cars I can help but feel there is not enough gain to truly make it worth my while. All the video footage on track seems to show cars like for example a boxster S simply walking away from a turbo'd 86 (2009 onwards boxster 310bhp). So here in lies my quandary. I'm hoping to do more road trips this year and means me chasing alot of Porsches through the alps and similar roads which I managed to do last year fine in standard form apart from a few sections of road, but was hoping to give them a fright this year but to my eyes modifying car to this extend means a loss of reliability but for not much gain (currently I have TD NA package so the car has more power now and a few suspension mods). So just looking to hear peoples opinions on this topic or if they have chased down a well driven boxster / cayman on track. I am not looking to change my car as the running costs and fun I have with it are not something I wish to loose though admittedly I have been eyeing up Porches....

    Turbo / Supercharger / NA

Yes recently been to the NC500, have the TD setup. About 19 other cars all Porsches BMW M4's 140's 458 etc etc Just have a hankering to try and Porsche out so will test drive. The GT86 is such a fun car and in all honesty was more than a match alot of the time. Lots of compliments came the GT86's way. If I drive the Cayman and Boxster and it does not give me the same feeling as the GT86 I will walk away.

    Turbo / Supercharger / NA

Keeping standard parts and putting them back on has always been something I have done. So made some money back. The problem with modification is the compromise in reliability when you start talking about supercharging etc.

    Turbo / Supercharger / NA

The running costs of the Cayman and boxster from what I can see are not huge and as the car out of the box does not need changing modification money goes on that rather than changing things. I do agree on your points as they are the counter arguments I have in my head at the moment. I'm going to test drive a few boxster and Caymans and see what hat happens. Going to try and tap up a supercharged GT owner aswell for a ride. If I was not doing 2 big trips a year I would keep the gt86 and would not look back.

    Turbo / Supercharger / NA

So I have just returned from doing the nc500 and various roads in Scotland for 5 days. Again I find myself thinking of supercharging / turbo charging the gt86 or going to a boxster /Cayman S. Has anyone done a European trip of long extended trip with hard driving with a turbo or super charged gt86? Would like to see if the reliability holds up? Obviously a Cayman boxster comes with great power brakes etc as standard and from my experience they hold up (gen 2) very well.

    Drifting to the left

My car is currently drifting to the left after a purchase of new tyres. The tyres are ps4's but Im sure they are not the cause. I have had the alignment checked twice and there have been no real issues. Constantly reviewed tyre pressures to make sure nothing is going on there. So my conclusion is one of two things. I have possibly bent something? However I have looked under the car and found no evidence of this. Or a bush is on its way out. I do have a slightly buckled wheel but that has been moved to all 4 corners and the same behaviour of a slight drift to the left occurs. So any common bushes know for going around 51k that I should take a look at? Im going to get the car to Toyota tomorrow but thought id ask on the forum first.

    Drifting to the left

It seems to drift iregardless of inside or outside lane on just about every road I have been on. It still drives ok but there is a slight fight in the steering turning right. I will see what Toyota have to say. It's one of those small frustrations.
