mines just started to show the start of a rust line on the A-pillars... another thing to find time to get sorted lol.
-
hmm I'm tempted.. just got to watch the pennies at the moment.

The IS165TOY is a set of door speaker and dash top tweeters - simple plug and play replacements as they have the mounts and connectors included to just connect upto the stock Toyota loom connections. No need to cut connectors off and crimp on bullet connectors etc!

Couple of funny noises going on.... rear shelf 'buzz' and chirping brakes when 'free wheeling'?

The fact there's a TSB for parcel shelf noises would make you think they would fix it if still in 5yr warranty. -

I'm still in 'warranty' so may try to record the rear shelf noise and see what RRG say. Pad noise seems to have gone but have noticed that one of the rear disks isn't getting full pad contact - nice 'dirty' area consistent around the disc.. Might be a case of gettign them so look at the brakes again under warranty. -
Been reading up on people removing or replacing the clutch pedal spring - whats the consensus of opinion on this?
-
thinking of that - the clutch 'feel' is too on/off in comparison to other cars I've driven where you can get a bit more control feeling the clutch bite. May see if Mike can fit the clutch spring in next week whilst it's in @ TD.

How reputable are they? *may* would be a word that would set my spidey sense tingling! There's a couple of places breaking low mileage engines - I know there are 3 cars at DAS in Bradford which might be a suitbale donor engine. Might be worth a look at the cost of a transplant rather than open heard surgery on an already suspect engine?
-
noticed that mine has started to do this - any idea what they did ?

When my Celica emissions were a little off for the Mot, the recommendation was a bottle of Forte Injection Cleaner, a good blast up the bypass a few times, then it would pass having cleared the crap out of the system.

Anyone looking to offload some rear speaker brackets?? Cheers.

you should be able to pull the surround off with just your hands...

told you this already bud Known and proven upgrade - got mine sat in a box ready for fitting/tuing when the accountant gets HMRC to pay me what they owe me lol
-
ouch - in one fortunate way it's 'high-up' damage so probably new bootlid/wing as that looks to have taken almost all of the 'hit'. Rear bumper will hopefully just be a new skin. Pretty much an open and shut insurance claim due to their negligence. This will spur me on to fit my rear dash cam and the power pro for 24hr cover.

Just picked up the kids from school - when i drove home, the CEL and Traction Control lights have come on and stayed on? Seen a thread about this occurring being various issues flagged by these lights being on. Just ordered an OBD2 reader from Amazon which should be here tomorrow but I'm supposed to be in working away from tomorrow night and so I may only get chance to read the codes and maybe clear them. That depends on what time the package lands in the Amazon locker up the road. Any advice on it being 'safe' to drive - CEL light is on permanently which means a stored code - at least it's not flashing!

CEL & TRC Lights have come on - safe to drive?
benmmellor replied to benmmellor's topic in Mechanical
Just the CEL - intake has been on for months with no issue. Fitted a catch can a couple of weeks ago. If that was the cause then I'd have expected it to trigger earlier than this week. Yep - secondary has been removed but again that's been like that for over a year and a half! -

finally back home, picked up the OBD reader and pulled the stored codes. Only one listed was P0171. I've cleared that for now - I don't think it's the intake as that's been on for ages so should throw up a code all of a sudden. I'll check the PCV connections to the inlet manifold and crankcase via the catch can tomorrow but they were all jubilee clipped and tight. I'm suspecting it was a minor glitch but at least I can monitor it with Torque Pro now. -

There has been a noticeable squeak of late - I just put it down to the brake pads.. I'd expect the ABS light to come on for that sort of problem. I've had that before on my Celica when the rings on the outer CV joints had a crack in them causing the ABS at low speeds. It's had a few moments of rough idle but not paid it that much attention as once I'm off moving I hadn't noticed anything. Code reader should land at some point today and I've got Torque Pro loaded and ready to go so I can see what the stored codes are. -

lol - I know it should be safe. At worst case it would be an AA recovery to Macclesfield if I have a problem. Already sent Rich an email advising that once I know the codes I'll be in touch with a potential case of 'GT86 Ebola' -
Just ordered one of these to see if it's any good - will be testing it on HU before I route all the cabling.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Greatek-Backup-Waterproof-License-Reverse/dp/B077BNMXSX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525074521&sr=8-1&keywords=greatek+gt86+brz

Lol - nope not even going to attempt that ! This is going to connect into the new AVH-5800DAB HU I got so hopefully a lot easier to wire in... though it may sit on my shelf for a while until I get a clear weekend to spend time fitting this if it looks to work fine when I test it.

Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review
benmmellor replied to GT MLT's topic in Tuning Developments
I'm looking to do this upgrade at somepoint - but limited with budget. Nearly had a 2nd hand TD EL manifold sorted off someone on the other forum but they welch'd on the deal. Back to saving up again -
I ended up getting a Blackvue hardwire kit with a cigarette lighter socket end. Will splice this into the radio iso loom when i change the head unit. Got a 2nd dashcam to put in rear window and have protection of recording whilst parked up!
