seems to be some decent prices on the SPH-D230DAB and the AVH-5800DAB on Amazon at the moment...
-
is the SPH-DA230DAB anay good and keeping a gapless play on a mix album when in MP3 rip?? Tempted by one if it does...

Currently pondering a HU upgrade. Have decided to get one of these three.. Pioneer - SPH-DA230DAB Pioneer AVH-Z5000DAB Pioneer AVH-X5800DAB Main difference being that the SPH-DA230DAB is Mechless.... Can I live without CD's.. Any recommendations? Also planning to get the usual cables - Toyota to ISO loom, Connects2 Fascia panel kit (or other space filler) and the CTToyotaUSB loom. Aerial loom? then got to figure out if/where/how to fit a DAB aerial or can it use the OEM sharkfin?
-
Same here ..... especially mixed ones - can't abide a skip/pause in tracks. Now that is nice but not worth a risk on ordering from afar and it not working in the UK. I think a decent full panel might look better than just the side spacers....
-
Currently considering the SPHDA230DAB unit - it's mechless to no CD lot but looking at the notes you made, I should be able to use the USB port still... Yet another decision to make - can I live without the CD slot!

I'm away working in Cardiff today so not able to go.

I've got Viofo WR1'as they are smallish and discrete. Currently connected to a lighter dual port charger in standard glove box socket but have just bought a Blackvue Power Magic Pro which I'll splice into the radio iso loom when I change the head unit. This will allow them to be active when parked up.

wiring is nicely tucked away on mine what I want to do next is look at using a hardwire kit to the fusebox so that they can be powered when parked up. At the moment they are in an adapter in the glovebox lighter socket. Some kits have an 'add a fuse', others have a bare wire you wrap to a fuse leg... Next question would be what fuses to use for ACC and Permanent live...

bit of a revival on dashcam wiring - has anyone done a 'hardwire' to the fusebox? looking to implement one for when the cars parked up. Will need to use a mini-usb splitter to then power the front and rear dashcams with a cutout if the battery level drops too much...

This is my 'supplier' - The Detailing Shack http://stores.ebay.co.uk/r1detailingltd Website is being updated but they have a good ebay shop. Take a look at their 'package deals'. I've got a DAS-6 with some flexipads for a good price from them. e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dodo-Juice-Buff-Daddy-DAS-6-Orbital-Machine-Polisher-Buffer-Hexlogic-Heads-/122266788565 DAS6 is good for the home detailer as it's pretty hard to go wrong with it when getting into using a machine polisher.

Supercars of the North West meeting - Sunday 25th March, Victoria Park, Southport
benmmellor posted a topic in Social Meets
Would people of the North West (and any other regions where people want to travel from!) be interested in putting some cars together at the Supercars of the NorthWest show in Southport Pretty good show by all accounts. Sunday 25th March 2018 @ Victoria Park, Southport > https://www.facebook.com/events/146624272618961/ 1) Ben (GT86 and probably the RA28) 2) Lauren 3) 4) 5) 6) ?? -
Still using the stock headunit - have had a couple of instances now of gremlins: 1) finished a call on bluetooth and it stayed on call display even though the other party had hung up. Couldn't get off that screen. 2) mid call the HU decided to reboot itself 3) HU has rebooted itself when just listening to radio It's not frequent but is bloody inconvenient as I have to stop/start the car to get it tto unfreeze when it locks the screen on a call etc. Is this a FW issue with the HU or BlueTooth module? This has happened when using either of my phones - iOS and Android.

still tempted - weighing up swapping back in the stock 2nd frontpipe and putting this manifold in... need to speak to a) my insurers and b ) Mike at TD to see what he can do for me as regards to fitting and tuning.. -
definitely a worthwhile mod... done it on mine...
-
Here's how I did mine
-
yeah I had to adjust the cable route to make it reach... I'll try and grab a photo today.
-
yep CTEK conditioners are great - I have one for the battery from my RA28 which keeps it ready for use whilst the car is parked up.

where you based ? someone may be willing to assist. The speakers on the GT86 (fronts anyway!) are pretty easy to change.

Focal IS165Toy kit is a piece of piss to install as it's plug and play fitment - just remore the stock speakers and swap them over. We did Njay's on his drive in Bracknell - took us about 30 minutes without taking the door cards off completely.. Luckily the GT86 uses nylon threads in the door panel to the bolts unscrew easily. The wife's Auris on the other hand was an absolute bastard to do as the speaker mounts are riveted to the door panel so had to drill them out, and re-rivet the new speakers on.

hmm - oddity issue as all the connections were still tight to the switch module and connected securely. Unplugged the BRZ mirror loom black box (8 pin connection) and re-attached. Seems to be working now. Must have been in need of standard IT 'percussive maintenance & wiggle' technique!
