I've fitted one of the Subaru BRZ auto mirror close looms which does the job when locking the car. The last few mornings when I've started the car the mirrors have stayed folded in rather than fold out. Checked the mirror fold button and that's as should be. If I press the button in and out and the mirrors pop out. Later when I park up and return to the car the mirrors have unfolded as expected when I start the car. Seems a little odd to behave like that now after installing the module ages ago. Any ideas folks?

well after behaving most of last week, they seem to be playing up again today. Swapped the fuse as an possible fix - doesn't seem to work. Might have to take the door card off and recheck the loom fixings - but as they are locking tabs on the connectors I'd be wary of it being this. Will take the loom off and see if they behave - hopefully it won't rain today/tomorrow when I get chance to do it. seems to be switch related as the mirror adjustment won't work at all either.

Wanted: Set of wheels for three weeks or so in November
benmmellor replied to Lauren's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Lauren, got a full set of original wheels sat in garage. All with legal primacies on. Happy to loan them if you're happy to collect and return. -
I've had similar reactions from kids at my daughters school. Got asked to help ferry some kids to and from a gymnastics competition and they were all asking my daughter if they could come in my car because it's 'so cool'. The GT86 gets a fair bit of attention, even had bikers pull up next to me at lights and give it the thumbs up - but the RA28 really gets noticed when that gets taken out.

As I've managed to acquire a Blitz Advance kit, I've got a couple of spare intake pipes and filters to sell on. HKS Intake Pipe - £100 HKS Panel filter used for about 6000 Miles - £15 Cusco Intake Pipe - £100 Blitz Panel Filter used for about 3000 Miles - £20 Can post if paid for, or collect from Walton Le Dale (near Preston, Lancs). Also can bring them to 'Supercars of the North West' show on the 22nd October in Southport.

Phil - there is a cigarette socket in the glovebox as already stated. I got a 2x 2a usb plug and that powers my current dashcam nicely from there. I have another one in the centre armrest which has the leads for my 2 phones plugged in. The dashcam cable easily tucks in the roof lining and then slides down the inner pillar cover - just pull it down a little to miss the airbag. I then fed it down the inner door trim and then popped the side of the glovebox off and tucked it through to plug in to the lighter socket.

You can get a loom part from Japan Japan which will auto close the mirrors on locking - about 80 quid and about 30 mins to fit You should have had front and rear gt86 mats as standard. When I picked mine up the fronts were missing and I made them give me the set out of their demo car unless they were going to send me a set in the post!

yep - shame it wasn't a factory option. Would have saved me a tidy amount on spraying up the unprimed kit.

I had the Cusco one but will be selling it on as managed to snag a full Blitz pipe & SUS Advance. -
Lauren, Based on that experience (and maybe Mike@TD or Fensport can advise deeper) would you think an HKS catted manifold and secondary de-cat would give similar/equal or better/worse results with a re-map ? I'm tempted down that route at the moment with an HKS EL Catted manifold and some Crawford Power blocks as I get to the end of my warranty.

congrats on making the jump to a GT86! Will try and make some shows in mine in 2018 - but most people expect me to bring the RA28....

Well done bud! As mentioned in the post above - it all comes down to how much you do and how invasive you may be to the 'standard' setup. I'm lowered, cat back full exhuast and 2nd de-cat, air filter an bodykit.. just plan to get services during warranty with Richard at RRG Macclesfied and life is a lot easier. Wheels - 18x8 ET35 with lowered spring suspension, you have some more options if you went down the coilover route but they are more expensive suspension. Re the car - check you have the bigger battery!

Hello Stranger Yet another old CCUK'er joining the GT86 fold (NJay got his a few weeks ago) Didn't make JAE this year due to it being youngest's birthday weekend.
-
My current setup progress so far is secondary decat, air filter and exhaust. Parts on the shelf for future fitment include a set of Crawford power blocks which I'll fit with an uprated manifold - probably the HKS catted one (UEL or EL still to be decided) and then a re-map at TD.

Are any NW based owners thinking of attending this - would it be worth looking to see if we can get a small stand together? https://www.facebook.com/events/1074134846054408/ I was planning on taking my GT86 and the RA28 (asuming the wife will drive one there) -
Pinged you a text.

Well I've had the GT86 for 2 years now.. Started off as a search when Andrea (wifey) said to buy myself one for my 40th! As it started out when I picked it up 2 years ago : Most mods have been purchased by fairly well timed vulturing as people de-mod their leased GT86's whereas I plan to keep mine for a while like I did with the Gen6 Celica I had for near 13 yrs. First quick additions to improve the 'breathing' with an HKS Suction kit and start my blue/silver colour scheme with a blue engine cover: Injen Cat-back Exhaust (had to have the blue tips!): As of this weekend, the Cusco engine bay 'bling' has been added in and all logged on the mod list for the insurance: Also fitted in February was a set of Focal integrated speakers and the Subaru auto-close mirror module (which I can;t understand why it was never fitted as 'standard') Couple of things happening in the next month or two: March Mods: Secondary de-cat (HKS frontpipe) and lower 25mm on Eibachs (can't justify the cost of coil-overs in my mind) and i managed to pick up a full set of low mileage suspension with springs already fitted for a quick swap out. Dashboard plastics being sent to Simon @ Hide'n'Seat when I get chance to be coverd in alcantara or leather... April - TRD Kit lands (finally given it was ordered from Fensport in September 2016!) and OEM Sharkfin Aerial and I can get it sprayed up an fitted. At some point I'll be deciding on new alloys to swap out the stock ones. On the parts shelf ready for when the warranty starts to run out - Crawford Billet Performance Blocks. then a re-map with all the NA mods!
