Any recommendations on new nuts to complement the new wheels? Seeing as I have a blue & silver thing going on under the bonnet, I was thinking of new blue wheel nuts to go with the OZ HyperGT HLT wheels... https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/wheel-nuts-accessories/muteki-sr35-closed-steel-wheel-nut-sets-with-locking-nuts.html

but which ones are the least likely to rust ! ?

which version - Greddy/GrimmSpeed/Speedline??

bit of a thread revival - how have the ball sockets faired? Any signs of rusting?

I've been given 'permission' by SWMBO to treat myself to some new wheels - probably OZ Ultraleggeras, Formula (HLT) or Allegrita's (HLT) in matt graphite to complement the silver. I also have some Eibach lowering springs to go on soon. If I ever have more funds it may be an option to get coilovers but springs will do me for now. I've now got to decide on what wheel size and width/offset to go for which will not cause issues with the lowering: DO I stick with 17x7(or 8) ET35 or 48 or look at 18x7 (or 8) ET35 or 48? Will these be ok with lowering springs? Any recommended tyre size for the 18x8 if I go with that option

well wheels now ordered - ended up deciding on the HyperGT HLT with Eagle F1's Asym3. Ticking down days till delivery - was a little bit of money left over in the 'mod pot' to go for a bit more ASBO and treat myself to the Blitz Advance Induction kit (bit of bling for the bay)

SOLD Pioneer F970BT Head Unit

how well does that head unit fit the dash - any fitted pics? -
the only extra thing I saw on a install video on YouTube was to pull the cable down the pillar a bit to miss the curtain airbag... will try and find the link.

swapped the rears quickly last night - not too bad but might purchase a set of Osram DiaDem's to see how they look - they were the one's I used on my old Celica and looked pretty good.
-
not had chance to put them in yet - still in the packet lol. they don't seem that 'shiny' compared to the #194's I've got for the sides.. they may look better when installed...

Picked up some of these WY21W chromes from Hids-direct - they don't look that silvery to me... might have to look at other options to get them ore chrome or bite the bullet and get the Osram LED versions and the the uprated flasher relay for LED's... Liking the mods and giving me some impetus to do a bit more to mine now!

tempted by the cusco intake hose - what sort of price including postage? -
Decided to get a dashcam - wanted something small and un-obtrusive. The advantage of Amazon prime meant ordering a few, trying them and sending back what didn't suit. The 3 that I shortlisted were the Viofo A119S V2 (Wedge shape with screen), Goluk T3 (Wifi) and Viofo WR1. The Goluk T3 was pretty nifty but the fixed position holder didn't allow adjustment of the camera to be in the right position. It then came down to the Viofo's. The A119S V2 is pretty well rated - but they have just released the WR1 which is a small puck design and you use an App on your phone. This means it's a little cheaper ;). Playing about with the WR1 proves it to be pretty functional for what I need so that's been kept and will be fitted when I get chance next week.

can I ask what rear view camera kit you have and how hard was it to fit? need to think about protecting my TRD rear!

Lowering springs and some camber boilts would be fine unless you want to spend a lot on coilovers. that's what I have on mine. You aren't miles away from RRG Macclesfield who know their stuff on the geometry and have seen quite a few setups now.

He's right on my doorstep - might have to give him a call to look at a couple of dents on my wing.

based on me probably wanting the Matt Graphite finish on the Alleggerita's there's about £125 difference in price per wheel assuming 18x8 ET35.. Price per wheel (not inc tyre) HyperGT HLT (Star Graphite) - £316.00 Alleggerita (Titanium Tech) - £347.94 Allegerita (Matt Graphite) - £432.94
-
that extra spoke seems to weigh about 1Kg lol.. Weight of the HyperGT HLT is about 19.2lbs (8.7Kg) from what I can find so about 1.1Kg heavier than the Alleggerita HLT which are 17.4lbs (7.8Kg).
-
hmm do I go for Alleggeritas or the new HyperGT??? funds clearing and either would look good with the TRD kit..... http://www.ozracing.com/wheels/oz-racing/i-tech/hypergt-hlt http://www.ozracing.com/wheels/oz-racing/i-tech/alleggerita-hlt

Thanks Rich - Feedback to Toyota HQ they need to offer the kit pre-painted in silver/installed at factory in future! Just need some deeper offset wheels to 'finish' the look!
-
I bought it on-line from Japan - took a couple of weeks to arrive. Fairly easy to fit if you follows the instructions someone wrote (will find the link again) - a bit of contortion to do it but easy enough to do on the drive.

So the TRD kit has now been painted and fitted.. as has the OEM Sharkfin aerial...
