I've got the HKS suction kit (pipework and filter) so will just change the filter and see how that feels/sounds for now. May have a couple of spare HKS filters to sell on for people to try.
-
yep - and would go with my blue/silver theme lol. Sound and some performance benefit are something it would bring - but will have to wait for that until new wheels are paid for.

Seems to have been ok so far. I used to have the Blitz SUS filter on my Celica which was a nice piece of kit. Can't bring myself to blow £300 on the GT86 Blitz SUS Induction kit - filter replacement will do for now lol!
-
hmm some say the HKS foam panel filter is good - but they only achieved +1.5hp.. Might have to try a Blitz filter and see what the 'butt dyno' says?

Another little cosmetic mod done. Sharkfin aerial (OEM) finally installed! To my eye there isn't a very discernible colour difference so not a priority to get it re- sprayed.

With the lowering springs I can feel it being a bit more 'solid' on the turns - that was ust the fronts, the rear brace only went on this week but again it does feel a little better.. maybe a placebo but it seems to have had an affect. I find them a good sound - but 50% deaf in one ear anyway lol. If I upgrade the HU then they should be pretty good for everyday use. My mate who is a bit of an audiophile said they sounded good enough to him when he had a test drive at the weekend.

Little bit of boot bling purchased and installed whilst I wait for my bodyshop slot to sort the TRD kit. Cusco Rear Brace

Damn and I had that wax for nothing then.....;) -
also get some toyota speaker adapter cables to save having to chop off the stock speaker connector PC2-824 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Aygo-Speaker-Adaptor-Plug-Leads-Cable-Connectors-Pair-PC2-824-/161099909243?hash=item25824d887b:g:E5YAAOSwYIxX4SbJ

They are a big improvement over the stock speakers - definitely able to hear a difference from the tweeters! They would probably benefit from a headunit upgrade and some sound deadening in the doors to maximise the effect. I've got sound deadening stuff - just not fitted mine yet.
-
Don - they are a piece of piss to fit. Takes about 20 minutes per door, tweeters take a little more patience and a trim removal kit to do it carefully. Could probably find time to help you do it as you're not a million miles away from me if you need help.

Note to self if letting Wifey take the '86 - check what shoes she has on! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4252154/Man-takes-revenge-girlfriend-cutting-shoes.html

Looks like I missed you both as I picked mine up yesterday lunchtime - Rich's team had it in from the day before for the service, recall and fitting some bits. I now have 'pops' added to my nice exhaust tone. hur hur hur
-
Latest mods now installed - HKS Frontpipe and the suspension legs swapped over to the ones with the Eibach's on.All done by Rich's team @ RRG whilst it was in for service and the recall work. Looks like a nice drop on it now and the exhaust a little throatier whilst still not annoying on the motorway. Seems to rev a bit more freely now and felt faster on acceleration. Also had the call from Fensport that my kit is being delivered on monday - but sadly my bodyshop can't fit me in until mid-April now to spray and help fit it. bugger!

Tempted to now look again at a Parrot H/U and transfer my Co-Pilot licence onto that... Then again I suspect they will eventually make it illegal to take your hands off the wheel at all. I use my phone for Sat-nav and it's usually in the brodit holder safe and sound - guess that's now going to be an iffy one to have. Lost count of how many high end cars I see where drivers are using their phones 'manually' despite their £60k+ car having full bluetooth integration.

CHRIS KNOTT INSURANCE :: 0800 917 2274

And paid... spoken to 3 different ladies (Tabitha, Kathy (of Legend) and Rebecca). and the level of customer service has been consistently brilliant with everything being understood first hand and not needing to explain what each mod is. Hopefully next year my renewal will come in cheaper and save any 'negotiating' lol -

had my quote matched today so new CK customer on saturday as of renewal time. Covers all the mods that are planned from the stockpile of parts in the garage that have been collected over the last few months. -
This was after taking the card off to fit the mirror close module and the new speakers. Well all seems to be behaing at the moment. Certain I put the green/white nylon sheaths/clips back in properly as they do 'click' into place. The ball on the end of the cable is seated properly in the 'cup' and the cable is in the groove - so all as they should be thankfully! Hopefully it was just a gremlin from they way the door card has to be fitted and the cables had come out off the groove with having to manhandle the door card back on.
-
Whoever was in charge of designing the lock pull setup and fixing it to the door card should be dragged outside and whipped with the ball end cables... ! Must've been a Subaru designer as all my Toyotas (and Lexus) have had the door pull fixed to the door skin rather than the door card. 3rd time this week that I've had to reseat the ball in the 'lever' - once I've managed to get the door open! I'm a dab hand at getting the door skin off now in about 2 minutes (again once I;ve managed to open the damn door!) Quite embarassing having to get in the passenger door and climb over the transmission tunnel to get into the drivers seat. Hopefully it will stay put for a while now! On a positive note, I'm well chuffed with the Focal speakers now fitted and the Subaru mirror auto close module!

Subaru auto-close loom (H2717CA0000) Fitting? Wire on Lock Loom??
benmmellor replied to benmmellor's topic in ICE/Electrical
I may do that at when the weather gets warmer - not the best at soldering so may look at a small chockblock connector instead. Already had the door card off again this morning as the ball on the lock cable had managed to pop out of the notch - ended up having to climb in and out of the passenger side until I managed to get the door to open up -
Subaru auto-close loom (H2717CA0000) Fitting? Wire on Lock Loom??
benmmellor posted a topic in ICE/Electrical
I've got a day to myself to do some car jobs - so was planning to fit my Focal kit and also the Subaru mirror auto close loom that's been sat on my garage shelf for 6 months plus. I did find a thread which detailed which correct wire on the UK lock loom to connect the black scotchlock connection onto... but I can't find it! any help would be appreciated so I can get this done whilst the door card is off whilst I do the speakers today! -
Subaru auto-close loom (H2717CA0000) Fitting? Wire on Lock Loom??
benmmellor replied to benmmellor's topic in ICE/Electrical
fitted and working - just the hassle of making the loom fit. going to have to have the door card off again soon as the Focal IS165TOY kit I got to install this weekend is short of the extension cable for the main speakers
