  1. I wouldn't say it's "perfectly legal" but you're very unlikely to get any attention from the police as long as the letters are the correct font and close to the correct size. If you meet an arsey copper or have a picky MOT man, they could fail you on incorrect plates though.
  2. You can't fit legally sized letters on a 12x6, regardless of borders, since the letters themselves are 6.2" high, The minimum legal plate height is 199 mm (7.8"): 79 mm letter height x2 = 158 mm 11 mm border top and bottom = 22 mm 19 mm spacing between rows of characters = 19 mm. Total is 158 + 22 + 19 = 199 mm. I suspect most import plates are printed with bike plate sized letters, which you can probably get away with. The reduces character height to 64 mm and the spacing to 13 mm, meaning the minimum plate size is 163 mm (6.4"). With a bit of bodging of borders you can get it down to 6".
  3. You can probably bolt an 11x8 plate (which are legal) to it.
  4. I was even later! Looking to ditch my whistling 1320 at some point, if you want to pass yours along (what do you have @Paul?)

    Lower control arms

SPC/Eibach arms are a cheap option, £220 or there abouts. Amber have them amongst others: http://www.amber-performance.co.uk/product.php?xProd=26532&xSec=8591&jssCart=94859146f069f7ecdf18c2bea2e7a5bc

Track day on a patched tyre?

If you imagine a cone of rubber with the fat end on the inside, that's more or less what a tyre patch is. You can't push it out with air pressure as it's too big and it won't fail inwards as the air pressure prevents that. I'd be more worried about someone driving with an unknown defect than a patched tyre.
  10. Paid for bumper plate.

    Air-Con

With the cost of a service for the new stuff down to £99, it doesn't seem worth the cost to convert it any more. Even at higher prices, the replacement compressor made it marginal.

    Brakes

Do you have front and back, or just front? BBK is potentially something I'll do before too long.

    Brakes

I'm not sure you could, Reyland Motorsport have AP brake kits for the GT86 for just under £1500, which is not much more than Tarox are asking.

PFC - Performance Friction Front Pads

I am using Cosworth pads at the back currently, they're a bit prone to squeal though, and not that cheap. I might try Hawk HPS pads next.

PFC - Performance Friction Front Pads

I'm running these, they are excellent road and light track pads. Good enough for me on track at least! Need to find a good rear pad now.

    Creaky Clutch

Anyone else have a creaky clutch pedal? I think it's probably the spring but it's quite noticeable when I push the clutch in. I assume it's probably not critical and maybe fixed with a bit of grease?
