My Custom Hayward and Scott Cat-Back Design and Proving
Rich replied to Ade's topic in Modifications
2-3k did my head in on my unresonated Milltek, the resonator seems to help a lot there. -
Anyone happen to know what the warranty implications of fitting an oil cooler are?
-
Pfft, given how long it took me to get my wheels, I think not!
-
Black you say... Would go nicely with a ginger car. Luckily for my wallet, 356s won't fit under my wheels.
-
My Milltek non-res was only 97dB with decat manifold (though I retained the stock front pipe). I think the cobra is pretty loud!
-
I ran power back from the central console for my efdc in the boot. It's pretty easy - remove the central console (instructions are around on one of the forums) and you can route wire along the top of the transmission tunnel easily. Wires will go under the seat backs of the rear seats and into the boot.

Says video unavailable?

If you only have the second cat, you can probably get it to combust in the manifold (or at least dump enough fuel through the second cat). With both cats you're really asking too much I think.
-
If you spin the bolt too far it may slip and no longer be aligned with the screw threads. You can get it back in, but it requires removing the headlight motor (which generally requires removing the headlight). It's fixable, but a pain.
-
You can spin the adjustment bolt off the screw threads in the motor if you adjust too far is the issue.
-
Put me down as a probably.
-
I'm not sure how much adjustment there is left on it as I didn't fit it myself, but I think they can handle quite a drop, it'll be better than nothing at least!
-
15 mm, was 20 before though.
-
I have the cusco leveller and my lights seem fine in terms of beam length.
-
Roads felt quite greasy on the way to work today, I had a lot more slip than normal, got some fairly heavy intervention on one roundabout exit!

My Cosworth pads squeal on the back, though not as badly as the stock pads. PFC pads with stoptech discs on the front don't (I suspect the slotted discs help there).

Most of us are in the UK where high octane fuel is more readily available. The normal recommended fuel on here is Shell V-Power which which equivalent to 93 octane using the American rating. That article is pretty dubious though: "These octane boosters raise that number to create a cleaner burning fuel as the higher the number in the octane levels, the cleaner the fuel burns." Octane has nothing to do with how clean a fuel burns, as long as the octane is high enough to prevent knocking, boosting it further makes no difference.

Ah, I just use airdroid to drop it across to my PC.
-
How do you mean export from RTI section? I normally start logging from RTI and then just copy the log file off my phone.
-
A generic ebay one, it's blue. I wired a switch into the side of it so I can turn it off and on without having to pull it from the port. I might start logging at 0.5s.
-
Yes. Currently set to log once per second. I'm not too worried about my intake temps - they drop right down as soon as the car gets moving. I've seen over 50C when parked in the paddock before. I'm using the same formula as you Ade.
-
My intake is up at 30C+ when in traffic, the graph I posted didn't have too much idling. I'm planning to do more logging over the next week so I have a better idea of temps.
-
Fired up torque for some more info this morning, I managed a peak of 101C accelerating off a roundabout on the A34. It was over 90C just sitting in traffic. @Mike Was yours measured before you had a manifold fitted? Because I'm definitely seeing some high temps.
