To be fair I had the new bumper as the old one was in pieces... I'm not too bothered by scratches.
-
You don't have to declare if they decline to quote, only if they quote and then decline to cover you.
-
They'd probably want to blend it at least, otherwise it will probably not match. I had a new bumper fitted last year, it already has scratches at least as bad as yours.
-
Intec light is one of the easiest mods I've done. Absolute doddle. Only bit that took me some time was carefully taping down the wire so it didn't rattle.
-
If/when mine cracks I think I'm going to get something else. They just seem poorly made.

What is the difference with the clutch spring?

MFactory Final Drive Kits in stock at Tuning Developments for GT86 and BRZ
Rich replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Time for a thread bump! I'm considering final drives for my next year upgrade plans. Still not 100% sure on which (if any), So I knocked up some numbers based on @DanJ's spreadsheet above. The graphs show tractive effort vs speed for three different final drives on a stock MT car, where you shift at redline. Some interesting things are evident. One is that a stock FD is much quicker 50-60 than a 4.67. The later upshift really helps out there. In fact there's a lot more ranges of speed where the stock FD is better than I'd anticipated. I was thinking 4.67 was the way to go, but I'm thinking 4.44 might be a better bet now.- 101 replies

I also run around -2 degrees all round, really made a difference to cornering (though I changed to coilovers at the same time, so that might be part of it).
-
I only got half the heatshield off my overpipe; that is sufficient to get it free of the car with a little perseverance...
-
You can do it from the front; manifold just drops straight out once you unbolt it, then wiggle the overpipe out of its slot after removing heatshields. I had severely seized nuts on the overpipe heatshields and on the catback (the latter required some serious air powered impact gun action).
-
Stock overpipe won't come out without removing at least one heatshield, even with the manifold off. Aftermarket overpipes should just slide out once the manifold is off. Manifold side is much easier than front pipe for getting the overpipe in or out.
-
Simplest yes, but why most efficient? Water is a much better heat carrier than air, so in theory an air to water setup could be a lot better than air to air.
-
That one has the flexi - you can see it at one end of the midpipe.
-
I have tried to keep mine sensible for daily driving with my mods; there's always a temptation to go nuts though. That said, doing mods is part of the fun in a way that just buying a more expensive car wouldn't be.

And I thought mine were bad when I changed them! -
From reading FT86club it seems like it's a softer spring than stock, so a sort of halfway house between no spring and stock.

How's the car Dan? Got the Donington mishap sorted? -
Was going to be climbing, but have put my back out, so I'll probably be along for this.
-
No costco membership. ECP was having a sale last night though, so I have picked up a pair of Bosch aerotwins for under £20.

Tried cleaning, no difference. They started working again just fine this morning once they warmed up. Seems like the rubber goes too hard at low temperatures.
-
Long term update on the cheapo blades. They're crap in subzero temps. Judder like crazy even once the windscreen was warm enough to defrost itself (I tried them after 30 mins of driving, air temp was -1C).
