Start stops are standard fit on a lot of cars for reduced emissions, which plays into tax bands. I was somewhat surprised that the GT86 didn't have one actually. I'm not sure they make a huge difference in real world driving as mentioned, certainly this car is more efficient than either of my previous two cars, both of which has 2L turbocharged engines. That might be because it doesn't have a turbo to throw lots of air (and thus fuel) in when you boot it though.

My old car had regenerative braking and it was used to reduce alternator load and for start / stop AFAIK. I'm not sure you get enough from a road car to make much use of it for motive power in a non-hybrid vehicle.

I might be free that evening.

Open Day Spring 2016 @ Tuning Developments 27/03
Rich replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
It's only just up the road from me, so I'll pop along. Might even get my car on the dyno if I've managed to get some mods done by then.- 235 replies

Milltek Secondary Cat Exhaust for sale

Is it the resonated version or non-resonated? -
Personally I like the Buddy Clubs, a bit pricey though!

I think leather/alcantara is the best choice for seats personally. Full leather tend to be a bit slidey.

Colour choice should obviously be orange, the superior colour choice.

They were cheapest for me last time, and fitted at a place just down the road.

Hmm, silver or gunmetal, decisions...

Supercharged 1UZ? Budget for a lot of rear tyres.

Any of the online tyre suppliers should be able to sort you out with a pair of F1s with no issues.

Any idea what colours he can do? I'm guessing red, blue, silver and black for sure. Maybe others?

This is pretty much what I'm doing. I have a UEL manifold and overpipe on order from 1320 performance over the America, even with shipping and import fees it works out a lot cheaper than anything available in the UK (sub-£500 for both, landed). I'm planning to keep the rest stock for now, maybe go for a catback later on for better noise.

Do you have a good way to mount your phone so you can keep an eye on temps, or do you just check when you come in?

installed a new head unit and indicators stopped working!

I think the speed is for speed sensitive volume (which I think the standard HU has). Navigation doesn't need a speed sensor reading; it determines speed from the GPS. -
Those are nice, I'd like some in gunmetal, do you have a source for them?

A very enjoyable night, great to meet you all. -
Have another like on me.

Went the long way home, via the triangle. It's a bit greasy in the primacies at the moment, what with snow on the verges and a ton of grit dropped everywhere, but still fun. Quiet too mostly; A523 was a dead loss, but just one wagon on the cat and nothing on the A54! Bonus interest from wheel spinning trying to do a hill start on Hibel Road in macc.

I'm tempted to have a run round it on my way home (it's not really on the way, but it's not far either).

Roughly 10 dB for a doubling of perceived loudness (3 dB is for power), so 127 dB is about 4 times as loud as 108 dB! Also 120+ dB can cause instantaneous hearing loss, so that's kind of unsafe.
