I normally back off at around 130C oil temp, but as Lauren says, it does stabilise to some extent around that temperature. I'm looking to fit a Laminova oil to water cooler this year; hopefully I'll have proper car working space soon.

I'm out, seeing a mortgage advisor that morning.

Double post.

Toyota GT86 Pearl White (62 Plate) - 38k miles ish

Confectionary? Didn't know you accepted that. I'll offer a haribo tub of your choice... -
It's a known issue with the model of manifold - cheap flex pipe that whistles when air flows over it. Doesn't affect performance, just sounds a bit crap. At some point I'll bite the bullet and get new flex welded in.
-
Agreed, I bought a cheap manifold, and while it has good performance, it whistles annoyingly.

Never had a problem with cold feet in the car. Usually cold hands from the controls if anything!

I don't recall much change in tramlining and the like when I went to V105s tyres. Going to wider wheels with different offset made the most difference (as you'd expect).
-
Considered the MTec shifter springs? No noise that I can hear, but the effect is pretty subtle (more so than a mount change I think).

Does the greenlight trackday cover affect your NCB if you have a prang on track?
-
In the sort of temperatures we have it's not a problem. At -2C or thereabouts you can put luke warm water on the window and it won't refreeze, but it's also not hot enough to crack the glass. Yeah if it's mega cold it'll be a problem, but the UK doesn't generally have that issue.

Warmish water does a good job of defrosting them I find.
-
Can't do either.
-
Not really.

I found the streetmasters a bit soft - they wore really quickly. And dusty. And they squeal.
-
Don't do it, they're not as good.

I have a solid breaker bar for loosening nuts - it's a bit longer than my torque wrench which helps. If they're really stuck a good trick is to use a piece of scaffolding pole or similar over the end of a breaker to increase the torque.

I have PFC Z rated up front and Hawk at the back. Seem like a good pairing for street and light track - no noise, cheap pads, stop well. I found Cosworth pads wear too fast and squeal too much for my taste.

My catback uses a flat gasket, not the cone, so I binned the old cone. Worth checking before you buy one.

There are some tests over on ft86 which found that just fitting a drop in filter to the standard air box was as good as anything else after a tune (most of the intake "gains" are from different MAF scaling, which a tune evens out).
-
They're useful for determining prevalence though. Mine is an early model and no coilpacks as yet at 50k miles.

Al/Cu mix is not ideal from a galvanic corrosion point of view either. Probably OK for a sump washer as the oil should reduce corrosion potential, but an Al washer would be better.
-
I might pick up some brake pads...

Definitely a non-res.
